Winemaker of the Week
Winemaker Fiona Turner and husband Hamish started up Tinpot Hut in 2005 in Marlborough’s Awatere Valley and is named after Marlborough landmark ‘Tinpot Hut’ – a historical mustering hut. Now the home to Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Riesling and Grüner Veltliner, as well as Syrah sourced from Hawkes Bay vineyards.
Sauvignon Blanc 2018 – A Sauvignon that always shines! Giving us notes of blackcurrant, passionfruit, melon, lemongrass, thyme and a mineral palate with a perfect balance of acidity, richness and flavour.
Syrah 2013 – Fiona’s love for Hawkes Bay Syrah compelled her to search out quality sites and growers to source grapes from so she could proudly produce a Syrah to add to her collection. Made in Northern Rhône style and full of plum, violets, white and black pepper with hints of chocolate, leather and cinnamon. The palate is warm with silky tannins and fruit flavours. - 18 hours ago
