Not much worse in the food world than unimpressive #chirashi . You literally only need good sushi rice and fresh fish, but this fish is thin, not particularly flavorful and really skimpy.
You know what else I don't like? A restaurant should bring out entrees so that the three customers can eat at about the same time. Here, Mama K got her entree first, rice coming about 5 minutes after the hot sukiyaki, then mine came out 6 minutes later, and then KK's came out about 8 minutes after that. I dont expect them all at one time like I would at a 3 Michelin star restaurant, but if I can pace my cooking to bring out one sukiyaki, one chirashi, and one steak out at the same time -- then a restaurant should certainly be able to do that much within 3 minutes of one another.
