If you want to get stronger and leaner at the same time, you also have to progressively overload 💪 Here is one example with chin-up’s : after managing 10reps I put on the ankle weights to become 2kg heavier 👍😉 And here we go with 8reps 😍💪💪

Placing force on the outside of your hand will allow you to externally rotate keeping shoulders back and engaging your lats way more!🔥💪🏼

The hand position also places your elbows in the correct position once you pull allowing for proper movement, and correct muscle activation.😲👌🏼💪🏼

I spent years doing pull ups like the figure on the right and all it got me was stronger forearms and biceps with no increase in back strength or muscle development.😪🤷🏻‍♂️

You can lift well, and you can eat well, but if you are never giving your body a chance to recover form all the work, you'll never be able to reap the rewards from that hard work.

Allowing the body time to recover is absolutely crucial for muscle gain. There's lot of people who think they need to train every single day in order to grow, but if you do that, you're body never gets a chance to rest, which will lead to massive amounts of fatigue, leading to a drop in training performance.

If you want to see the best growth, you need to let go of your ego and realize that your performance is only as good as your recovery. Make sure you get AT LEAST 1 rest day a week. Give your body the time it needs to rest, and it'll really benefit you in the long run.

Demolished it at the gym. Did my plank challenge. A quick core superset of leg raises, heel touches, bicycle flutter kicks and Russian twists with a 10 lb dumbbell. Did 25 box jumps because my legs are deaddddddddd from leg day Saturday. Chin ups. Pull ups. Reverse chin ups. New PRs on decline and regular bench press. Busted out 16 laps in 15:52. A new PR by 2:35. Great self image night. Felt MAD BEEFY! Mad cow even 😂😂😂 but frealzies! This new @ihatedukedavis #IHateIt😡 shirt makes me look and feel goooooddd! Thicc boi! #MarchMadness Plank Challenge. Today was Day 18, two minutes. Went with the up down, shoulder tap, kick out plank again. Been doing reverse chin ups to help with my pull ups. They’re not pretty but I did some regular chin ups and pull ups. Progress. From one pull up to a few. Then I had went into chest day. Set a new decline bench press PR of 155 2x3 and a new bench press PR of 155 1x3. I didn’t get to do incline bench because I wanted to swim. And I set a new 16 lap PR of 15:52 and shaved 2:35 off my previous best. 💪🏼🏊🏼‍♂️💪🏼🏊🏼‍♂️💪🏼

Here’s a pullup progression you can do with a towel

While they are harder than regular pullups, they can also improve strength asymmetries and reinforce good form and control (or else you’ll be all over the place)

You can lift well, and you can eat well, but if you are never giving your body a chance to recover form all the work, you'll never be able to reap the rewards from that hard work.

Allowing the body time to recover is absolutely crucial for muscle gain. There's lot of people who think they need to train every single day in order to grow, but if you do that, you're body never gets a chance to rest, which will lead to massive amounts of fatigue, leading to a drop in training performance.

If you want to see the best growth, you need to let go of your ego and realize that your performance is only as good as your recovery. Make sure you get AT LEAST 1 rest day a week. Give your body the time it needs to rest, and it'll really benefit you in the long run.

En ajoutant la coordination entre les membres inferieurs et supérieurs, j’essaie de garder une tension dans toutes mes chaines musculaires (tensegrity) et aussi un effet de réciprocité.

Placing force on the outside of your hand will allow you to externally rotate keeping shoulders back and engaging your lats way more!🔥💪🏼

The hand position also places your elbows in the correct position once you pull allowing for proper movement, and correct muscle activation.😲👌🏼💪🏼

This is how I do pull-ups while trying to battle a prosthetic leg. Coordination, strength, and determination.

Farmer Frame Walk: 3xIDK but Heavy

My Overhead Press is getting better! I couldn’t quite get 5 Strict Reps, but I could get 4 and 1 Push Press, which is fine!

The T-Bar Rows I wanted to do because any time I Press, I want to row so I can balance my anterior and posterior sides because I think that’ll help with some shoulder things going on. 
These 2 Logs Videos were actually pretty ok! I wanted to see how far I could strict Press the log and I got to 165 before failing 175. Fatigue was starting to set in.

Lastly was this unknown weight Farmer Carry Walks. Sometimes lifting things you don’t know the weight of makes for some good training because It’s super easy to psyche yourself out with a number.

We have a tradition of dressing up i costume to support friends running races and even running in costume from time to time.  After cheering on friends in this weekend’s NYC half marathon I happened across a sculpture just off to Times Sq that was begging to be used as a pull-up bar. 🐼🐼

Here's a #throwback to training with these great fighters... A few of my clients have recently asked me how to increase strength so they can work up to #pullups

So here's a little trick : follow this protocol twice a week for the next 4-6 weeks and let me know how you progress. I suggest saving this and following the steps below.. This will work for beginners as well as anyone trying to increase their number of pull ups.. Week 1&2: for those who can do at least 3 pull ups: Do one pull up, wait 30 seconds, then do another pull up and wait 30 seconds and repeat this for 5 sets. Followed by 5 negatives (jump up and slowly come down). 1 pull up
30 sec rest 
1 pull up 
30 sec rest 
Repeat x 5

5 negatives consecutively 
For those who can't do any: 
1 negative 
30 sec rest
Repeat 5 times
Wait 3 mins and repeat. (2 sets)

Week 3&4: for those who can do at least 3-5 pull ups: Do 2 pull ups, wait 30 seconds, then do 1 negative, 30sec rest and repeat x 5 sets. 
2 pull ups 
1 negative 
30 sec rest 
Repeat x 5

For those who can't do any:
