Over the past year I’ve kind of let my intensity go because of life, stress, outside factors just let things get the best of me. 
But this week I just decided I’m getting back on the path. I’m just so motivated to push some heavy weights today with @5star_cody at @flex24odessa! 
Honestly I just felt alive pushing to that extreme intensity again. I’m not 100% back yet but I’m going to get back at it day by day.
One other factor is @hormonehealthwpb I linked up with these guys and they got my hormones back in line and I’m pushing weights that I haven’t touched in over a year like it was easy. I feel better than I have in a long time and I’m super thankful for those guys! You should check them out!

This is a big deal for me. The last 4 months have been rough since my back sprain. The last 2 months ive seen some crazy (negative) changes in my health. Ive been suffering through psoriatic arthritis and its been kicking my ass.  Ive also dropped from 181lbs to 157 since December. 10 of those lbs in the last month.

This is the first time ive repped 185 in 4 months.

I will always advice the use of this machine for beginners who are still learning the use of the  normal barbell bench press and its proper form because of the support the machine give and the controlled movement, its safety and time it saves to perform your program. Although the barbell bench press STILL remains ultimate for me.

The bench press and the chest press both target your pectoral muscles. But just because they both target the muscles of your chest doesn’t mean they’re equals.

For anyone who has easily injured his shoulder, has constant shoulder pain or has been advised to steer clear of the bench press, the machine chest press is the most viable solution.

The bench press, however, trains a larger range of motion versus the chest press. And that means, with the bench press, you'll be able to build a bit more muscle than with the chest press. But both have their unique advantages that can be implemented to increasing strength and muscle.

Compared to the bench press, the chest press machine is far safer. Because the machine uses cables and pulleys and is on a fixed line of movement, you won’t need a spotter for this, which enables you go more reps many reps as possible in a controlled movement.

Plus, when compared to the bench press, the chest press is far more efficient with your time. There’s no need for you to add or remove weight like the barbell bench press. All you have to do is move the pin from one weight to the next and continue your workout.

Well felt like shit today...I feel the sickness creeping in...stocked up on NyQuil, Airborne, and Tylenol Cold at Kroger tonight....slept for awhile before the gym but managed to get a quick chest workout in! 
Only had an hour to bust through, so chose to do my least favorite bench, incline and some accessory work.

Wanted to just hit some volume work, started at 65 for 10, 75 for 8 and then 3 sets of 85 for 6. Wanted to get 95 for 4...but barely got my third rep, so called it quits. ......F 🤦🏻‍♀️

Did 40lb dB bench press for 8s, took the 45s for a ride, only got 4. Finished with some machine work...An hour for all that shit may have killed me.

I really want this page to show the struggles in my work outs and not just the best bits. Like every obstacle in life I will struggle, learn and persevere and training is no different. I got told I wouldn't be able to train for around 5 years. I got told I was an eye lash length away from loosing my hand. I got told if I was 10 mins late getting to the hospital I would've lost my life. This was 2 years ago. LETS GO GET IT!!! Cable flys ! Slow and controlled and get a STRONG squeeze on each rep ! Then follow up with reps to failure ! I do 1-2 set on the top pins of the cable machine. And the same for the middle and bottom pins. Give these a try if your not already doing so !

🔧 Lay on your stomach on an incline bench setting the cables about 1 ft above your head, look up, while pulling down.
🔥 Hold the pull at the bottom for extra contraction in your lower lats to get that 🌲

2️⃣ ALTERNATING HORIZONTAL/VERTICAL DB ROWS
⠀⠀
🔧 Perform a traditional DB Row, and slowly alternate to a horizontal row. This specific horizontal row engages your upper back/ traps
🔥 Do this slow and controlled with light weight to feel a burn from the high top to the lowest point in your back

I've noticed that working out other than your school gym gives you better pumps because 
1. No waiting more than 5 min for a machine
2. No cocky people to annoy you
3. Lighting is better 😂

Over the past year I’ve kind of let my intensity go because of life, stress, outside factors just let things get the best of me. 
But this week I just decided I’m getting back on the path. I’m just so motivated to push some heavy weights today with @5star_cody at @flex24odessa! 
Honestly I just felt alive pushing to that extreme intensity again. I’m not 100% back yet but I’m going to get back at it day by day.
One other factor is @hormonehealthwpb I linked up with these guys and they got my hormones back in line and I’m pushing weights that I haven’t touched in over a year like it was easy. I feel better than I have in a long time and I’m super thankful for those guys! You should check them out!

The cable Chest fly is one of my favorite chest building exercises. This is far better then Dumbbell chest fly’s in that it provides full resistance threw the whole movement. To get the greatest benefit from this exercise focus on the contraction and the eccentric portions of the movement. Letting the chest work; not the arms or shoulders. Before starting your first rep retract and lock down the rear shoulder blades (scapular thoracic area). This will help you isolate the chest.

Sleep is one of the most important things that
everyone must get enough of! However, it's not as easy as it
looks. Here's what you can do to have the best sleep of your
life!

First of all, you need to have zero caffeine before you head to
bed. Caffeine can stay in your system for hours, and it can
disrupt your sleep cycle. Do not drink water before bed, as this
can wake you up seeing as you'll need to use the bathroom;
same goes for food. -

Dont train late at night as you won't have the sleep state of
mind. Try to plan your next day by writing a task list or using a
schedule/planner. Have your room temperature in a cool
setting, as science shows that people fall asleep best when its
cooler( if you want to be extreme, sleep without a blanket, as it
has been proven that people can lose calories if they shiver in
their sleep)

No screens 1 hour prior to your sleep, as the blue light from
your phone sends your brain signals that you want to be
awake. This is why everything in the room should be pitch
black! Finally, set an alarm at an earlier time, and start your

Favorite Fitness Tracking Apps by @kyle.coughlan

Since posting regularly on my story the most common
question I get is "what app is that." Retyping these apps and
explaining what they do multiple times is taking too much
time so I thought I'd make a post to summarize all the apps
like and so I can share it with you guys.

Tracking my fitness has helped tremendously with keeping me
accountable and staying on track. I don't use these apps year
round, but really when I need to dial in to get results.

I've used many different apps over the years and these four
have been my most trusted few. They're all free and super
easy to use.

Tracking your fitness will really help accelerate your progress
so l urge you to try it out for 2 weeks and see if it makes a
difference

While there are a lot of benefits to tracking, it is important to
not get obsessed about it. So it's okay if you don't track
perfect. Aim for consistency, so try to track for 80-90% of the
time and that's good enough.
