I know everyone loved Carmella Soprano, but this morning she started hissing, swatting and slamming into the walls, trying to get away from me. It was just too late to try to socialize at her age. I had to think of what was best for her. .
Releasing her back to her only home, with other cats she’d known all her short life, was the only solution. I had to think of what was best for her in the long run. .
I know what you’re thinking, I should’ve tried longer and giving it more time. Please know as an experienced foster mom, when a cat is so stressed that it slams into walls, it needs to be put back in its colony as soon as possible. No amount of time or effort could help her. The caretaker told me he remembered her as a little kitten, so that broke my heart all over again.
As a kitten, she could’ve been rescued early and put into a foster , socialized. I gave him contact info if he does see kittens in the future. Watch til the end, she was very happy to be back in her colony. They have food, water, and many places to use as shelter. Good luck Carmella #soprano_kitties - 7 hours ago
