When you can win your morning, you can win your entire DAY...but you cannot have a successful MORNING routine without a successful NIGHT TIME routine!
I wasn’t always a morning person, believe me. But I wanted change more than I wanted to stay the same, so I just did it - like ripping off a bandaid!
Here’s what I’ve found works for me over the last year and a half of trial and error:
1️⃣ I use the Bedtime function on my iPhone. It alerts me about an hour before I should be in bed so I start winding down (phone & laptop off, teeth brushed, PJs on). It also gently wakes me up at the same time every morning Monday-Friday.
2️⃣ Workout clothes picked out, next to the bed. Preworkout meal ready. Preworkout no excuse juice mixed and on the counter.
3️⃣ Sleepytime tea....Every single weeknight. Tart cherry juice on nights when I need an extra melatonin boost! ((I generally avoid alcohol during the week, not only does it hinder my progress toward my goals, but it makes me sleep like shit.))
And here’s the really important part that no one wants to hear 🤭
👉🏼 This means I also make sacrifices by saying NO to things.
I’ve learned self-care & following this routine makes me feel & perform better. Feeling my best makes it worth missing out on some things (this doesn’t mean everything, but for me it means most and I’m okay with that 🤷🏼♀️).
