My poor little guy last night was rough on both of us. I didn’t sleep well, I was so worried about Niko and constantly checking on him. I could tell he was very uncomfortable. This morning when it was time for his ointment and antibiotics for his eye.... it didn’t go over well. I have to gently massage the cream over his stitches, which he was “ok” with, but then when it was time for his drops, he was a very unhappy boy. I think they really stung. He started rubbing at his eye and then it started bleeding. I immediately got on the phone and talked to his nurse at the specialist and she said it’s time for the cone of shame. She said they don’t send cats home with one because they typically do not bother their eyes after this surgery. But, my kittens are like unicorns, they aren’t normal 🤣. I had to rush to Mateo’s physical therapy and acupuncture appointment and I didn’t have time to go to the pet store before. Mateo’s physical therapist is an angel and listened to my mini meltdown when she asked how Niko was doing and then let me borrow a cone so I could just get back home to him (small gestures can really make someone’s day better, thank you Hila ️). I am dreading giving Niko the drops again, I hate to see my babies in pain.
We are just taking this one step at a time.
