Time for you!
I had the privilege of spending the day at @nordikspanature_chelsea yesterday with dear friends. It was my first time and I loved every minute! It was good for mind and body, and was a delightful indulgence for the senses! I will be back!
Every time my friends and I are together we comment on how "Mom Time" is so important. (It's a priority on my list!) And how time with good friends is just so good for the soul. Mom time and time with friends are not only good for the soul but necessary too!
It doesn't have the be as extravagant as spending the day at a unique Scandinavian Spa to give your soul exactly what it needs. In fact, it never ceases to amaze me at how the simplest of moments can breathe life into a weary Mama's mind.
When I was a new Mom, a wise woman taught me and maybe even urged me , to find time for me. (Thanks Mom!) She taught me how to feed my soul from the simplest of things at a time when it seemed almost impossible to find time to pee! Time to reflect over tea, a contemplative walk or mindless one, a bath with candles, time alone to savor that magazine you've been eyeing, a trip to the grocery store without kids (I love grocery shopping), an uninterrupted chat with a friend are all examples I love and continue to practice today.
The benefits of taking "Mom Time" whether simple or extravagant, are too many to list here but let me tell you they are plentiful and powerful!
I've found the key is to take this time regularly. Take this time before you "need it". Take time to be alone and with good friends....regularly. Take time regularly to just be YOU....beautiful, important YOU!
