I’m wanting to indulge in a creamy, full bodied cup of joe this afternoon, but as of a couple days ago, Kelly and I are kicking (or lessening in his case) our coffee intake in exchange for tea (and decaf, luckily, so I could totally still technically splurge!)
Luckily, I’ve found the most amazing tea shop in #olympiawa that has just as delicious, loose leaf teas and has made this switch way easier than it normally would be!
But the reason I’m putting myself through this personal heck is that I’ve found that by lessening coffee (aka pure, delicious anxiety) and sugar (my own personal drug of choice), my down days are WAY less down and my up days are WAY more fulfilled.
It turns out that when you don’t use caffeine to wake up in the morning and instead substitute it for water, your body naturally reacts in a same (but so much better feeling, trust me!) energized way all on its own. Crazy right?!
And bonus points: there’s no mod-morning crash!
That said, the struggle to get to that point isn’t for the weak it typically takes me about 2 full weeks to finally get rid of all of the coffee withdrawals, so if you’re planning on making the switch for some crazy reason like me, then patience will be your greatest friend.
That said, I highly highly highly suggest trying to go caffeine- or coffee-free at some point in your life, especially if you’re prone to anxiety and/or if you want to feel the deliciousness of waking up to a fully charged, no-crash day!
I may by the only weirdo here who wants that though, so no judgement if you prefer to drink that creamy, delicious morning drink. I promise I’ll stop being bitter about it soon
Has anyone made the switch to a decaf/no coffee/less caf day? How was your experience with it?? - 7 minutes ago
