6 weeks ago I was tired all the time, no energy whatsoever, cranky/moody, clothes didn’t fit comfortably, bloated all the time, bad physical condition, binge eater, not really happy with my appearance, I’ll be having sugar cravings all the time, addicted to food, hormones all over the place, hungry all the time even thought I just had eaten.. and the list goes on.

Now the most important of all I’m Happier, I’m also more energetic, less stressed, clothes are fitting better, hormones are balancing 🙌🏼, haven’t gotten bloated as often, I’m not binge eating 🙌🏼 no more Sugar Cravings, or crazy cravings like I use to, my physical performance has improved so much, no more binge eating 🙅🏻‍♀️, I feel more confident, my self-stem has improved a ton & I’ve learned what really Self Love is 💖 So much improvement & so many victories accomplished I’m not giving up & never going Back!

I know numbers don’t compare to the awesome results I’ve gotten but I’m down 12 lbs, 2 pants sizes 🙊💗 All of this just by giving myself some time to Working out in my living room 20 mins a day, 6 days a week for 6 weeks 🙌🏼💖 & most importantly following my Portion Control Nutrition Program! & can’t forget about My accountability Group always supporting & helping each other virtually!🎉 #fitmomjourney #fitmomtobe #my6weekchallenge #6weektransformation #fitmomlife #healthymomma #selflove #selfcare #momof3 #busymomlife #busymomandwife #athomeworkouts #gymathome

Would you ever admit that you struggle with food addiction? -emotional eating; stuffing your face with Oreos because you had a bad day
-binge eating in the night
-daily fast food runs
-an energy drink every other hour of the day
- 3 to 4 pops a day

I’ll tell you, that I used to be. If you talk to anyone in my family, they will tell you that I very much SO enjoyed both of my pregnancy’s. With our second child, 5/7 days of the week I would a trip through the McDonald’s drive thru on my way to work and order a breakfast burrito and a large mocha. Why? Because I was craving something sweet, and the burrito was only $1

But was I really craving the sweet? Or did I just need that quick fix? Did I use “I’m pregnant” as an excuse to eat all the unhealthy? Yes. Yes. Yes. It was so bad that a time I stopped with my husband the woman said “Welcome back Tara!” Yeah my husband never forgets that. How. Embarrassing.

That was a problem. And no not a pregnancy problem because it happened AFTER our first was born too; it was an addiction that was expensive and SO not healthy.

My April private online group will teach us how to conquer these addictions the healthy way. Combining the right nutrition + fitness, because the two work hand in hand. A little NSV (non-scale victory) this morning!  Looking for a lightweight long sleeve shirt and found this.  Pulled it out, looked at and remembered that every time I have pulled this out since I got it in 2015 after helping with a Luke’s Locker marathon training group, I haven’t been able to wear it.  I got it and then found out I was pregnant.... then I was trying to lose the baby weight, and even though it was a large, it is fitted and was always just too tight!  This morning, I could wear it! Over time I have learned a few tricks to help keep most of my sanity during crazy weeks like the one coming up this week.
1. Meal prep. As a family of 4, this is crucial to our health (mental and physical). Ronnie grills everything ahead of busy weeks. This cuts down on time (dishes, prep, cooking) and emotional labor (I don’t care what I eat when I’m busy so it may as well be easy and healthy)
2. Clean. I crank up the radio, kick everyone out, and put away/wash the whole house. I CANNOT think when the house is a disaster which is pretty often with young kids. It’s also very short lived but it does help. Just know that it won’t last and it WILL be a lot easier to clean again once your time settles down.
3. Outline what you have to do and draft projects. This week I am analyzing the data for my dissertation, drafting my results and discussion chapters, have 2 lecture days, and my normal day job. I don’t have time to mess around or guess. I had some time the past couple weeks and was able to come up with a plan for organizing my data, developed the outline for my chapters, and set up the flow for my lectures (slides are already built). Understanding what you have coming up and not wasting time when you HAVE time is critical to success and sanity.
4. Be self-aware. I have discovered my tendencies through losing my mind and patience in the past. I know my triggers and my desire to control. I am constantly reminding myself to control what I can and let go of what I can’t. I have prioritized my triggers and have learned how to mitigate them. I am also not trying to do absolutely EVERYTHING perfectly. There are other things that I could and need to do BUT they are not a priority this week.
I feel excited about this week because I am prepared for it. There will be some events that I may need to react to but the things I can control are set up for success. It’s also one of my final crazy pushes for school 😝

An important part of your self care routine, and to support good mental health, is to take regular breaks from your busy life. If you don’t, you risk heading for burnout.

I did that this weekend and really noticed how much I switched off, compared to when I’m home in London at weekends. It’s easy to forget how beneficial a break away is when we’re on the busy treadmill of life!

There are so many other benefits too, for example; .

As they say ‘a change is as good as a rest’. Being in different surroundings helps you to switch your thoughts from the usual ‘mind chatter’ habits you get into when in your home town or city.

Spending time away from home with your loved ones, gives you focussed time with them which increases endorphins and boosts your happiness.

🧘‍♀️MINDFULNESS 🧘‍♀️ Discovering new areas, tourist sights or walks will focus your mind and help you switch off from your busy life at home.

Had a SUPER productive day yesterday while outside enjoying the (FINALLY) super nice weather - completely cleaned out and organized my 3 car garage, cleaned up and prettied up my yard (all with the help of my AWESOME sister, Jackie Marshall! 🤩) then made dinner and THEN STILL was able to stay awake to watch a movie with Jhenna and Ashton! (Thanks Ultra 2.0 DFT! 😍)

I told myself today would be a “chill day”.. sit around, binge watch Netflix.. but honestly, after sitting here for about and hour and a half now, I can feel the energy and don’t think I’m going to be ABLE to sit around! 🤯 SO.. cleaning and de-cluttering inside today it is! Slow down! 
A concept I have really struggled with, even before I became a mom I was on the run 24/7. Now? Now I run while juggling, but I’ve also learned how to prioritize those much needed slow down moments & yeah sometimes it takes a bit more work. 
For instance: meal prep. Yeah it’s time consuming but it’s also become cathartic. When the kids are asleep and my house is some semblance of quiet, I hit the kitchen & wash, slice, dice & prep for the week. A chore I once loathed has become essentially a moving meditation. Added bonus: I honestly save a ton of $ not eating grab and go lunches & avoid the maximum calories minimal nutrition  trap. 
Sad truth is most people don’t know how good your body is meant to feel. Just because you’re not sick doesn’t mean you’re healthy & optimal nutrition makes a HUGE difference! 
Life is all about balance. Finding it, is the key to juggle and run. If you’re missing yours, I’m here, let’s talk. I’d love to help you get back on track.

🤷🏻‍♀️ I mean, I thought I just wanted to lose some weight. Energy would be nice, too. And hey, it might be fun if some friends wanted to join me. 
But honestly? Starting a business was never on my radar, especially at 37 years old.

I never expected to get paid to get fit or to help others do the same. 
I certainly never expected to make new lifelong friends when I was almost 40. I didn't know how much I needed them in my life! 
And here we are, waiting to set sail on a 5-night cruise, to be pampered and treated for helping others with a total solution for health and wellness. It feels surreal!

All because I said “yes” to something that was a mystery to me when I started, I just felt it in my gut: this was my missing piece.

Is something in your heart telling you to go for it?That business, that blog, that 5k, that "thing" you've always wanted for yourself? 
Do it. 
It may not happen right away. It will take time, you will question yourself in the lows and be proud in the highs. 
Listen to your gut, surround yourself with support, dig in and do the work. You won't regret saying YES to your true self!

Gavin is always ready to go in the morning so I don’t get my time to make myself breakfast. In comes my shake. ⠀

I used to mainly eat carbs for breakfast - bagels, waffles, pancakes - yum! What I realized is that I need to fuel my body right first thing in the morning, especially since I workout before breakfast. ⠀
⠀
Now I make my shake for breakfast every day. I don’t need to think about what I’m having or if I’m eating the right things. It has all the nutrition I need (plus the half a banana and spinach I add).⠀
⠀
It also doesn’t hurt that Gavin now says “yay” whenever the blender stops. I get an extra boost of encouragement to stay down this healthy path!⠀
