Hike one foot up, slide 10 inches down. Hike another foot up, slide another 10 inches down. I don’t want to see sand again for a long time.
These were the hardest conditions we’ve had to hike in.
We did the equivalent of back country skiing. Except it was hike up multiple enormous, unforgiving sand dunes, in 95°, with sand that burns your skin, and no shade in sight.
All for the reward of boarding back down. Take wood, apply wave board foot holds to the top, apply wax to the bottom, and voila.
For sure the hardest few hours I’ve worked for a few minutes of fun. But an experience I’ll never forget. Will post more shots later.
