I know when I started my IG Page, a lot of people wanted to know how I do “cheat days”. To be honest, I hate the term, and the thought of how most people consider their cheat days.  It makes me think of getting off track or, detracting from my goals for too long of a time.  We all know someone from the past who was extremely disciplined during the weekday, but then, killed their progress on the weekend by taking their cheat days too far. In many cases, I found that those people who crush it during the week, and binge on the weekend, don’t get the results they want, OR they have to work EXTREMELY hard in the gym to allow for that type of behavior (rare). Why put your progress on the line for the very thing you have been fighting so hard for?  Why?  Instead of BLOWING OUT a full weekend, set that BIG CALORIE meal to a less regular frequency.  I provided a % breakdown of time to show you what percentage of your weekend is compared to your week. AND how what % of once a month or twice a month is. This allows you to see the overwhelming numbers of why you should choose to not to do cheat days on every weekend, and maybe choose to do a more less frequent duration. I choose to go BIG about once to twice a month.  And when I do choose to do that, I prepare mentally to reduce the effects of that meal by:
-Doing an OMAD (One Meal A Day) fast
-Drinking tons of water before and after -Get active if you aren’t working out that day.

This is perfect to do at the end of your workout at the gym or also as a home workout. In the latter case repeat the exercises 5 times instead of 3. TOP TIP: focus on your abs, on you breathing, perform the exercises slowly and controlling the movements🔥

Here the workout:
•15 leg raises
•15 single arm-leg jackknifes (per side)
•30 Russian twist
•15 toe taps
•15 bent leg raises
.
Repeat every exercise for 3 sets and rest 20 sec between each sets. When you finish one exercise, go to the next one! 💪🏻💘 I did this workout on Thursday and my abs are still so sore... muscle-mind connection is essential to feel the real burn💪🏻

Back with another corrective video, in this shot we are visiting the hammer curl exercise.

There is a lot going wrong on left and its actually one of most common mistakes that I see when individuals are performing the exercise.  The movement is not controlled, basically swinging the weight with lots of momentum and also encompassing the shoulers into what should be a bicep and forearm isolation exercise.

On the right we are using the correct form without momentum, as well as incorporating optimal rest time between reps by doing unison arm movements which reducing momemtum and swinging. We are also executing the rep in a controlled manner.

Siapa yang menyangka, alat gym kuno ini bisa membantu anda membakar lebih banyak lemak... Saat anda mencoba mengurangi kadar lemak anda, maka fokuslah pada defisit kalori. Artinya kalori yang masuk lebih sedikit dibandingkan yang dibakar.
Kali ini kami akan membahas mengenai exercise menggunakan kettlebell. 
Penelitian dari American Council of Exercise menganalisa berapa banyak kalori yang dibakar saat latihan kettlebell. Mereka melibatkan 10 subjek berusia  29-46 tahun, berlatih kettlebell selama 20 menit dengan durasi setiap gerakan 15 detik, dan istirahat antar gerakan 15 detik. Dan hasolnya sangat menakjubkan!!!
Selama 20 menit mereka kehilangan 272 kalori. Jika dibandingkan dengan lari, lari 20 menit hanya membakar 160 kalori. Bersepeda 20 menit hanya 190 kalori. Menaiki tangga 20 menit hanya 170 kalori. 
Mengapa hal ini terjadi? Diduga karena gerakan kettlebell melibatkan seluruh tubuh dengan intensitas dan kecepatan tinggi. 
Hal ini tentu membuat waktu anda di gym lebih singkat dengan hasil maksimal... SELAMAT MENCOBA...

There’re many reasons the scale stops moving. Water retention, metabolic adaptation, you’re new to lifting and are recomping. But the main reason for weight & fat loss stalling comes down to one simple reason, you’re eating too much. ———————————————————————-
You might say “I don’t eat that much” or “I’m not eating enough it’s not possible”. News flash, you’re eating too much. You’re eating a lot more than you think you are. Track for one day even and you’ll see. We as human beings are terrible at portion control and the only way to learn portion control is to track for a certain amount of time. ———————————————————————
You can’t out train a poorly structured diet. It’s not possible. You can train and exercise as much as you want but if you don’t have your diet sorted, you’ll never make any progress and any progress you do make, will tend to be short lived. ———————————————————————
Learn the fundamentals of nutrition, get a coach if necessary. That way you’ll save a ton of time and frustration. ———————————————————————-

I used to think:
•I needed to do more cardio to become leaner
•Less calories = better (1000-1200 was my average on the left 😟)
•Lifting would make me big and bulky
•Cheat days were productive
•Alcohol didn’t affect my goals
•Foods were good/bad and the bad were off limits
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today I KNOW:
•Prioritizing strength training is what changes my body composition. Cardio is cool but not in excessive amounts.
•More calories= better because hormones and happiness
•Lifting makes me strong/beautiful/dope AF
•Cheat day’s don’t exist in my vocabulary because I eat foods I want and enjoy daily.
•Alcohol also is no longer in my vocabulary #4yearssober
•Foods aren’t good/bad, but some aren’t the best for ME (thanks @marcinevin for that quote)

Fantastic energy without the CAFFEINE 😱...say whaaaaat?? Yup! I love that this plant based drink keeps me going so I’m not burning $4-10 a day living on fancy coffees (and all the sugar that goes with that). Lift, Hit, Rest, Repeat. 🏋🏻‍♂️🏃🏻‍♂️
One of my favorite combos lately is to pick 2 exercises and 1 cardio move. 😟
I start with the 2 lift moves for  heavy reps of 10-12.  Rest 15 seconds between sets and finish with a cardio move for 1 minute. 🔥
Rest for 30 seconds and repeat for 2 more sets. 🤦🏻‍♂️
I will pick 4 more exercises and 2 more cardio moves and repeat the process. 👍
Why do I love these workouts so much?  By combining resistance and cardio with little rest you burn more calories while burning fat and building muscle. 😓

So I've been getting the question a lot again about hypertrophy and strength training and which one you should be focusing on?  In actuality the answer is both, as they have carry over to each other in benefit you in your fitness goals.  Lets go over some of the details of each training style.

As far as weight goes of course for strength you will be working with a heavier load and then for hypertrophy style training, its moderately heavy loads. Don't mistake hypertrophy training for light weights as that is not the case.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So I like to incorporate both training styles and the way you alternate through them is individualize on your preference. My example style of training is to do upper, lower, upper, lower split with one week being strength and the next being hypertrophy. You can also alternate days for these styles of training as well as alternating within that day of the workout.

For example, you would strength train with the bench press exercise in the 1-6 rep range and then afterwards when your programming is calling for accessory movements you can switch to hypertrophy rep range.  I tend to stick to all my compound movements in the strength range.

Really there's no set rules to how you alternate the two, the most important take away from these styles is that your training involves having both of them as they have great carrying over into getting stronger and having improved endurance.

Ab workout after one hour of cardio and one hour of #weights..Kept it right at the end. Phew!
 Trying some variations these days.
