You know what’s incredible? Getting out of your comfort zone.
Yesterday, Dan organised a last minute Valentines Day surprise for me with the boys at @twistedtrickscircus and it is quite possibly one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had. This is something I have wanted to do for YEARS but life gets in the way and then as you do start to think about it, along comes fear.
Fear that I would be terrible at it.
Fear that I would embarrass myself.
Fear that I would break a bone!
But I think the beauty was not having too much time to overthink it. As soon as we got there Peyton decided she wanted to be involved (standard third wheel behaviour) and seeing her determination, lined with a little terror, there was no way I could do anything but suck it up and give it my all.
The boys were nothing short of amazing; full of knowledge, patience and I immediately gave them my full trust, which was key. After six practice swings on my own, we ended up here and nailed the first catch attempt. Along with another two after that. It was exhilarating and just downright awesome! Stepping outside of your comfort zone is terrifying and putting faith in yourself and others can be difficult but you need to give yourself the opportunity to get out of your head...there are so many opportunities waiting for you and it’s oh so worth it.
