Hey guys, Casey here 👋
We broke the news on Thursday that Instagram have removed the likes and I have been so fascinated by the discussion around the topic.
My other business is in the mindset space so there has been a lot of talk about how much better this will be for mental health on social media, which I think is fantastic... But i don’t think it stops there, especially for business.
I think it is interesting that this change has happened off the back of a huge algorithm change, especially here in Australia. Where businesses are already dropping in reach, will the lack of likes make that exposure even harder?
Not only that, it is going to be more important than ever to make sure you are working with influencers who have strong metrics. A large follower count and no likes to measure is not enough any more, ask for insights and case studies so you are both getting the most out of the transaction.
Also remember, Instagram is still a business and I think they are capitalising on the platform blowing up, meaning more love for paid content 🤑
All is not lost though! As always, stay on top of what Instagram is favouring (*cough IGTV *cough stories) and continue to work on quality content that captures people’s attention and stay focused on your brands message and value and you will continue to succeed here on insta ✔️ Shoot us a dm if you have any questions, we are happy to help 👏 - 19 minutes ago
