Lily of the valley, orchids, pale blue asters, white peonies. All hidden beneath dark sheets gently draped over their still blooming petals. The only thing that gave them away was the scent that was beginning to fill the honey coloured stone corridor where they sat, patiently waiting for their close up.
Pink boxes filled with chocolates, mints and macarons were hurried past them and into the ancient building. Delivery staff teetered backwards beneath the weight of heavy cases of pure gold cutlery and gleaming vintage china, all being carried into a dark hallway and up a dimly lit spiral staircase.
And all the while, the wedding planner’s staff kept a look out for anyone with a camera. The most talked about wedding in the world was finally coming together. There was a crowd of tourists, a sea of journalists, a penned in mass of photographers, pushing and shouting for the best posdible view. And all held back by an impressive security presence.
The wedding planner stared down at then through the ancient leaded windows, looked at her watch and took a very deep breath. She was already behind schedule and it was only four o’clock in the morning.
