I'm excited to announce that I'm launching a bi-monthly podcast in connection with Newark.fm called "Pod and Market." (god, I love the name) This is a project I've been working on for the past few months, and I can't believe it's finally a thing!! I listen to a lot of podcasts, and it drives me nuts how few there are focused solely on Newark issues. Each episode will center on a Newark-based topic and will include panelists with different perspectives on that issue. For example, the first episode is about a zoning ordinance that will allow for 12-story high buildings in the Ironbound. There is a companion website (http://www.podandmarket.com, still in beta), and each episode will have guide with documents on the issue and descriptions of the panelists (https://www.podandmarket.com/podcastepisodes). I'm going to need your help facebookland! First, please subscribe to the podcast on Apple iTunes (if you have an iPhone or Mac) or download it from the companion website. Second, please share your ideas for future episodes. I already have plans for episodes dealing with the arts community, LGBT issues, impostor syndrome, Newark Public Schools, Halsey Street, among others, but I want to hear your suggestions for ideas and guests. Third, my website is in beta; I lack intro music; basically, there's still a lot of things I need to do to make the podcast perfect. I'm doing a lot of the legwork for this podcast (with a lot of help from Samantha, Miguel, Rob Conti with the logo design, and my sound engineer, Baheed). I can't tell you how much I would appreciate any help with the pod.
Thanks so much for reading, and wish me luck! 🎙 #podcast #newark #brickcity #podandmarket - 13 hours ago
