I can never do without breakfast. I get cranky, moody, and just downright irritable (probably irritating to the people around me too). This is a variation of my usual weekday breakfast, which I enjoy as much as my weekend breakfasts, that can range from pancakes to roti prata, whenever I'm back home.
Why I is choose this is because of oats. Such a simple, old-fashioned grain, but it is full of fibre, that keeps me full till lunch and maintains my blood sugar levels, including soluble fibre that reduces my cholesterol. But oats also contain beta-glucan, which just gives that extra punch as an added cholesterol-lowering substance.
Vary it however you like -- soaked in milk/juice overnight for some birscher style, I even knew of someone who has it cooked savoury with anchovies and egg. Just treat it like any other grain, give it a try!
