Hump day! πŸ‘ This is my new favorite move, single leg assisted deadlifts, these are great to do if you are trying to grow your glutes and lean out your hamstrings. Always squeeze your glute at the top and your β€œassistant leg” is only that, your toe can rest on the ground behind you but no actual weight to be placed on it. πŸ’ͺ🏼πŸ”₯ (p.s. I made a video last week for you guys but then realized in the light that my leggings were see-through. 🀨)

Back to San Diego and so freaking happy I put this bad boy in my purse. I get so sleepy driving at night but coffee would keep me awake for ever. Ok guys! Here is a great alternative to the traditional back loaded squat. This move is perfect for beginners as well and those who want to squat heavier but don't want to put heavy weight on their back. I love the cable squat due to the ability to achieve full range of motion and it's much safer. To be able to lift heavier on the cable machine I use grips to help hold the straight bar. Make sure on any squat to keep your weight in your heals and sit back like you're sitting in a chair, it is really easy on this one to lean too far forward. I to do four sets of 25 reps because I'm trying to lean out my legs but to begin try 3 sets of 25 reps. πŸ’•πŸ‘ ___________________________________

Layer by layer, year by year, I strived to be a better version of myself. This process wasn't overnight and of course has taken a lot of hard work but not without lots and lots of bumps along the way. If you don't fail that means you didn't try. Here it is you guys... this is my 8month progress towards competing. I know I've shared the updates a lot but this on is important for a lot of reasons. I talk a lot about quick fixes to my clients and how those quick fixes just as quickly as they are over have you right back to where you started. They don't teach you discipline, hard work, determination and dedication. The process is not easy and if it were everyone would do it. Being healthy and fit isn't a life sentence, it's a lifestyle. You're either in or you're out. Stop half assing your health. 
Yes my progress is slow, but progress is progress. Food, to be honest WAS my biggest undertaking. I am so very happy to be where I am today and I have so much more appreciation for fitness competitors and the process than I ever did before. Whatever you choose to do go all in, you'll not only look and feel better on the inside and out you'll also become a better person. πŸ’ͺπŸΌπŸ’• coach: @ifbbpro_meriza

Throwback to yesterday with that flex... I definitely wasn't born fit and I have worked incredibly hard to see the results I'm seeing. My body is a slow responder. I burn over 1k a day with my exercise routine and that is in addition to my Resting Metabolic Rate. Trying to reset your metabolism after a large weight loss has its challenges. They say patience is a virtue. Trust the process and stop looking for quick fixes. Fitness is a lifestyle and those quick fixes are just as they are. Once your juice fast is over or your cleanse, fad diet or whatever, 9/10 times you gain all the weight back if not more. Also those quick fixes don't put muscle on your body and having more muscle than body fat increases your life expectancy. I don't know about you but I'm looking to see 100. πŸ’ͺ🏼😚 #flex #livingtoinspire

One thing you'll notice is that I'm always smiling. No matter what part of my life I was in or stage of growth I always had self love. My smile may be more vibrant now but I think that is the healthy shining through. How you treat your body truly reflects on the outside. Always be a good person and always love yourself, you are all that you have. Those are things people can never take from you. Here is my hope to help inspire others. For some, the process isn't as long or as hard, for others it's a day to day process. My progress is slower than others but I can honestly say I have learned so much about myself and the level of discipline and commitment this takes over the last 6 months. It's been a roller coaster for me learning to cut my sugar addiction but I have finally conquered it. Sugar is worse than any drug out there and has the most people addicted to it. My addiction is what held me back from seeing faster results but I am happy I went through this process. It's not worth it to me anymore, this training is way too hard and grueling to sabotage myself because I can't get my eating under control. I'm looking forward to taking that stage soon enough. No matter where you are in your journey, we all start somewhere and we all have a lot of shit to go through until we reach that finish line. I've been quite for a while about my progress towards competing one day. I had a lot of changes in my life happen and need to re-evaluate my obligations. After careful consideration I have decided to join on with a new coach @ifbbpro_meriza and the @s3xystrong team. She has welcomed me with open arms and I have seen her work first hand so I am beyond excited for this partnership. πŸ’•πŸ’ͺ🏼 I would also like to thank my prior coach for giving me the foundation, strength and commitment to the process that I didn't have before. This is way harder than I expected and you helped me find my discipline. Because of you I have seen amazing progress. I'm going to miss training with my girls. 
Although I was in limbo with my trainers I still didn't give up on my goals. I've worked hard on my own this past month and a half and the picture shows progress is being made. I can't wait to see the finished project. My choice in outfit color coordination, I believe, totally depicted how my day was going to go. Blue Monday for sure! 😩😩 Popped my tire at 7am, can't find my wheel key to my Jeep and the tire place can't get it off with their kit because Jeep put an extra security feature on the wheel. Time is 1130 and still without my car. πŸ˜“πŸ˜“ Good thing I prepped my meals for today and I was able to get all my workout finished. So there is some light at the end of this tunnel lol. πŸ™πŸΌ #caseofthemondays #poweredbyprotein

Progress update: 3 month time difference. I am happy with the progress I am seeing and the work is definitely very hard but I know it's all worth it. Quick side note: I am like a different girl in each photo and a way tanner version now. Lol. πŸ˜‚ My progress is slower than others for a couple reasons, the biggest part is my metabolism is slow as rocks, I'm on 1600 cal a day and when I go over that my body holds onto everything I eat. When you go through a massive weightloss your metabolism tanks. 😩I didn't quite understand this until I read some studies done on @biggestlosernbc contestants who gained their weight back after the show was over. Trying to be consistent with my diet and stay at 1600 calories is hard. I fell of the wagon for a couple of weeks, my food cravings were tremendous. Going to the gym and doing all of the cardio is easy for me, it's all I know. Food, all of my life has been the struggle and it is very hard when your metabolism fights you everyday. Losing my initial weight was a easy this next step to compete will be the hardest thing. Is the hardest thing I've challenged myself to. All I can say is don't quit, don't give up on yourself, you are all you've got.  I have my eyes on the prize although I am human and will make mistakes I won't let that set me back. πŸ’ͺ🏼❀ #progressnotperfection

One of life’s hardest lessons to learn is that you can only change yourself. No one else can do it for you. You, have to have the will and determination to make that change. 
Some people spend inordinate amounts of time and energy fixated on other people, wishing and hoping they could look a certain way, have that persons discipline, etc. We all have people we look up to and admire but don't just sit in that place, aspire to get to work and be the best you, you can possibly be. ❀πŸ’ͺ🏼 #transformationtuesday

Waist currently sitting at 29" which is down 2.5" since my winter holiday weight gain. I've had slower progress because of my bad relationship with food. I'm on the wagon about 70% of the time and I don't want to talk about the other 30%. I've been 100% on this week thus far. I am tired of my self sabotage. We all go through our ups and downs, no one is perfect. Recognizing our faults will help us get through it, one day at a time. Pilates kicked my ass this morning, it is apparent I do not do enough ab exercises. ☹️ #nofilter #therealdeal

In honor of national pancake day macro friendly protein pancakes!! πŸ˜‹πŸ₯žThey are good for you! I swear πŸ€— RECIPE: 1/3 Cup Liquid Eggwhites, 1 scoop of @bpi_sports Granola Crunch Protein, Dash of Cinnamon, 1 spray of Olive Oil. Mix protein, cinnamon and egg whites until smooth. Make sure your pan is hot before putting the batter in. Cook on both sides and you're done! Voila! I was trying to show off for the camera, especially since my coach @kr_teamnolimits was filming, but then I started kipping more on my pull-ups instead of pulling straight up. ☹️☹️ 80 assisted pull-ups today and now I can barely lift my arms to move the hair from my face. Never did I think I would actually start to enjoy doing pull-ups. My goal is to be able to do 10 pull-ups unassisted by the end of this month. πŸ’ͺ🏼❀ #strongwomen #pullups #flexfriday

I get questions all the time on how I did it, how I lost the weight... there is no secret answer that I'm hiding from you. I hustle hard for the body that I have today, it's an on going process and I strive to be better than I was the day before. This is a lifestyle, quick fixes don't work and the ones that do never last. You have to change your ways, stop the bad habits and take control of your life. No excuses just hard work and dedication. For those who know me or that have been following my journey for a while now know that I practice what I preach. Posting my progress with you all also helps keep me accountable. A little over a month progress between these two photos. I made a plan on January 1st to take my fitness to the next level and go all in. I set new goals for myself and took the proper steps to ensure that I will be able to reach them in a safe and healthy way. There is no magic trick to fitness... train hard and eat the right way for your body, but most importantly you must stick with it! When it gets incredibly hard to follow the plan you can't give up on yourself. I also want to thank my coach @kr_teamnolimits for kicking my butt day in and day out and keeping me accountable for my bad eating habits. 😩😡 I haven't set a date on my first competition but when I hit that stage I'll know the hard work was all worth it. πŸ’ͺπŸΌπŸ’• #dreambig
