I've recently gotten a lot of questions about my pedalboard and while it won't make sense as a whole, I think there are some interesting factors to my setup.
But the fact of the matter is that this is not a classic pedalboard. It's more of a test rig of several different overdrives and distortion pedals, because I can never settle for just one.
Let's just go from top to bottom, left to right!
1. Klirrton/Kohlekeller Distortion Prototype
This pedal is obviously still in its developing stages, but it basically offers to blend in the HM-2 tone with your already existing preamp tones.
2. SNK Pedals VHD
The Varial Harmonic Distortion is based on the legendary Ampeg VH-140C and delivers that solid state, 90s Death Metal and Hardcore type tone.
3. Airis Mid Boost
This is a mid/clean boost prototype that Richard sold for dirt cheap through his Facebook and I couldn't resist the fluorescent orange. It sounds great, too.
4. Boss TU-2
Well, it's a fuckin' tuna, innit?
5. MXR SmartGate
Well, that's a fucking gate now, noise be gone.
6. Rodenberg Flux Capacitor Custom
My go-to screamer in front of literally any tube amp. You can turn it on. Or off. That's it. The Flux has a preset that does exactly what I need it to. Where we're going, we don't need knobs!
7. Kartakou Warmer OD
Another cool OD. As the name suggests, you are able to retain the low end punch while still increasing the tightness and making those tubes scream.
8. Airis Savage Boost
This is a clean boost with an EQ curve. Clean boosts have had a resurgence since the Fortin Grind and the Savage Boost does a similar thing, very well no less!
9. Fortin 33
Probably one of the most wanted boosts on the market, thanks to its limited production quantities. It's insane and maybe a tad too aggressive for my already vicious rhythm tone, but I love it with a slightly more tame amp or even in front of the Kemper with a mid gain profile.
10. Horizon Devices Precision Drive
The OD for the younger generation of modern Metal players. I haven't found the perfect application for this yet, but it's a solid pedal with cool features. The built-in noise gate is certainly a cool idea! - 1 month ago
