Three books on the go, one uni assignment for Monday, a fun costochondritis flare up and a very busy time at work 🤷 - 29 minutes ago
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Really good book. Can’t believe I haven’t read this book sooner. I know there were some mixed reviews. But like I said in my review everyone plays the what if game. And I enjoyed that because I have read the diary of Anne frank. Highly recommend this book. Is anyone else ready for fall? Summer is nice for about two weeks, and then I am over it. I am more of a jeans and hoodie kind of woman. Give me all the apple cider and bonfires 🔥 If you love fall as much as I do, be sure to check out the #QueenCityReads September Fall Challenge! Most of the prompts are open to your own interpretation which I find to be just a little easier.
Be sure to follow all my lovely cohosts:
QOTD: What is your favorite things about Autumn?
AOTD: I love all the leaves changing color, bonfire with my family, carving pumpkins, apple cinnamon treats, snuggling up outside in a hoodie and warm blanket... there are so many things 🍂 ⋆

These gorgeous girls were some of the very first friends I made in publishing and yesterday we got to celebrate the upcoming nuptials of beautiful Danielle (one of the best editors in the biz) with champagne and paintbrushes. The brief was a flower so naturally I painted a pineapple and good old Trish painted a crab. Not a bad effort for book people 😄📚🖌 - 1 hour ago
When the stars align:
1. All three children asleep (shhhh!) independently
2. Hubby brought home chocolate and flowers
3. Your girls over @caronandcobathandbody and @luckytalecandleco make the best bathtime goodies
4. You’ve finally recovered from Rhys and Feyre Darling enough to get back into another Maas series

An Absolutely Remarkable Thing
By Hank Green
3.75/5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Fast-paced & mostly pretty fun read. The first 50% was a super compelling page turner. The second half was a bit slower, and the ending was a bit of a letdown, which is why my final rating is 3.75/5.
On the surface this is a book about aliens. But it’s really not. It’s about fame, being addicted to fame, and the endless chase to be ‘relevant’ and ‘get ahead of the narrative’.
Though the main character was in her early 20s, her intelligence and maturity level is more like a 14 yr old’s. I had a hard time relating to how the ONLY thing she cared about was her internet fame, and her growing fame was never good enough for her. She was also SO selfish - willing to put humanity at risk for the sake of her internet fame.
The plot moved at a great pace for the first 60% of the book, and the story is interesting. Green writes well about internet culture and internet fame. I was driven to keep turning the pages until the end, despite the last arc of the book being a bit flat. And the ending sort of devoid of creativity

Found in junior non fiction. I'm not going to lie, I borrowed this for me. Silky's pop cakes, toffee with Moon Face, Famous Five ginger beer. Oh yes, bring it on. - 2 hours ago
