Everyday. — except I change the shoes.

I tried a new protein powder today. @drinkorgain chocolate fudge. Tbh, it was tasty, but the texture was basically saw dust and I couldn’t get over the fact. I kept telling myself it’s basically a milkshake and chugged that shit DOWN. I like it though, despite the saw dust part. 😂

Btw I love shoes and plan on getting so much more. I’m currently obsessed with the @nike air max 270’s. I get kids sizes. Cheaper, and more colors!

Some days you wake up and forget the skin you’re wearing. Some days you see your reflection and it defines who you are. Some days.... you’re only made up of flaws and mistakes, too many meals and not enough self care. Mind too focus on career and not enough time thinking about tending to family and relationships. You spend too much time on that perfect body image and your body is a container of disappointment. Tonight I had the pleasure of sharing dinner with three strong women. There were FOUR strong beautiful women at the table. My matthew picked me up and I walked away with my head held firmly on my shoulders. Stand next to someone who isn’t afraid of your strength. There are always going to be trials and hard things to overcome in life. There are going to be times where you feel scattered brained, defeated, you want to quit. That’s life. Life will give you those damn lemons.

I am someone who likes to have everything planned out and organized. I picture my life going in one direction and it really goes in the complete opposite. I am trying to let go of that control, and just live in the moment. I have to remind myself daily that everything happens for a reason, and eventually you’ll end up where you’re supposed to.

FTM- male soul in a female body. Took longer than expected.for me.to figure.it.out. ...34 years! I have been having a low emotion couple.of weeks wih my body image, weight , big chest, small hands.and big thighs. I use. A full body chest binder. No top surgery or hormone yet. Felt pretty confident today. My workout wasn’t my best, no PRs. Instead I went to dinner with my family, and still went to the gym because I wanted to.

Making fitness a normal part of my routine has taken years. I used to live for rest days, live for cheat days, tell myself “in 6-8 weeks you can chill, so go hard now”
.
I have legitimately found a love for fitness and I love making time for it. I love nourishing my body with great food and exercise.
.
Can’t wait to see what my body looks like in the next couple of months. I’m going to switch up to a new type of routine next week, so stay tuned 🤓 .

🌟body image thoughts🌟

Who else watches Friends? I still re-watch episodes all the time and I’m still struck by just how skinny monica and Rachel are.  I also remember thinking Amanda Bynes was so pretty and I wanted to be as skinny as her. I’m not knocking skinniness here. All bodies are beautiful and we are all built differently.

Mainly I’m thinking about how much I was influenced by the images I encountered when I was young. I don’t know if you remember the 90s but everywhere I looked as a young girl the models seemed to all look similar. They were allll skinnny with big boobs and tan and never had freckles. 
I was not the skinniest as a preteen/early teen before my growth spurt and very much not tan and very freckled.

I remember the first time I saw a model on a poster at target when I was maybe 17 that had freckles. I was shocked. I was happy to see things were changing. My thought was literally “oh, freckles are beautiful now?!” But the damage had been done, my inner struggle to see myself as less than the standard I had seen all my life left it’s impression.

I’m very happy to see the ad campaigns like #aeriereal that highlight the beauty in different body types and the imperfections that we all have and struggle to embrace instead of photoshopping them out so that we all have an unrealistic standard to reach.

This is why I loved getting into strength training. It helped me embrace what my body can do and the strong curves I now have.

I just posted on my blog “how to build a great butt” (link in bio) it might sound like a shallow post but I promise you that after years of feeling inadequate because my body didn’t fit the mold of what I saw as beautiful, seeing that Through strength training I could be confident, strong and beautiful and embrace my body has been extremely freeing.

What if you approached your journey back home with love, rather than fear of being stuck where you currently are? 
What if you embodied compassionate, mothering energy for your inner child rather than the energy of hustle and achievement?
What if you focused on the little things that you feel grateful for in the present versus how you wished you felt when you get "there?"
What if you softened your heart towards the part of you that self-sabotages rather than judging and criticizing her?
What if you normalized your experience rather than comparing yourself to others?
What if you started with acceptance rather than feeling like you need to love all parts of yourself after years of hating?
What if you took one small, sustainable step each day rather than trying to force a big breakthrough?
What if  the journey wasn't about becoming something else but uncovering who you already are at your core?
What if you didn't need to consume more external information but accessed your own inner wisdom?
What if you stopped chasing external solutions and found the internal one?
What would change?
How would you show up?
What would you let go of?
How would you feel?
Maybe the journey isn't what you think it is...

Compassion can only work if it’s given in two ways: 1. to yourself and 2. to others. But more often than not, showing others compassion is easier.

You cannot be fully and purely compassionate if you only show others compassion when they’re struggling but don’t show yourself the same kindness.

One of the simplest ways to show yourself more compassion is by talking to yourself as you’d talk to your closest loved one. 
Go ahead, think of someone most near and dear to your heart. Let’s say their name is Amber. 
Then, the next time you’re beating yourself up because of something you forgot or feel like a failure because you’ve “messed up,” ask yourself what you’d do if Amber felt like a failure? 
I’m guessing you wouldn’t tell Amber there’s no hope for her. My guess is you’d tell Amber how wonderful and loved she is, and that just because she messed up doesn’t mean she should be so hard on herself (working toward or encouraging a positive change is one thing. Berating yourself or someone else for a mistake is another). You’d remind her that everyone makes mistakes, which are learning opportunities, and you’d try to make her feel better by reminding her of her strengths and tell her that this difficult experience will allow her to learn and grow. 
Now tell those same things to yourself. Tell yourself how much you still love you, even though you made a mistake. Find times when things went right instead of wrong. And allow yourself to experience your own compassion. .

so i just want to be honest with you all because that’s what i’ve always strived for on my page but i’ve been WAY less than honest when it comes to my mental health/mindset on here.

i am friggin struggling right now!! 😩

i have such a low self esteem at the moment. i’m lacking in the unconditional love category. i’m treating my body TERRIBLY (mainly by what i’ve been putting into it). i’m upset with myself because i’ve resorted to convenience and that goes against everything i stand for.

eat things with 5 ingredients or less.
eat REAL food.
drink only liquids your body gets nutrients from.**

and yet, it’s been nothing close to that.

NOTHING.
i’ve been hiding behind the health foods.
i am NOT a symbol of good health right now.

but... i am in NO way beating myself up about this. i’m just trying to explain that THIS ISNT ME and my soul wants the old me back. the one with all that crazy amount of energy, and love, and motivation to change the world through health and positive energy and healing and REAL FOOD. but how can i do that when i’m not even being that??

im totes blaming all of this on being prego. all motivation went out the window as soon as graham did the deed... but like, shouldn’t this be the time i care the most?? shouldn’t i want to be as healthy as possible to grow this baby? i already lack energy growing a human and im ADDING to the lack by not giving my body what it needs to function at its best. and i feel it. i feel alllllllll of it.

This Post from @dietitiananna makes every bit of perfect sense - Body image and expectations we put on our self can be so unfair and unrealistic. It is so true what people say, that no one will ever judge and critique you, as much as you do yourself. Why are we so hard on ourselves? I will be the first person to admit that I can be horrible to myself... and way too often. Don’t get me wrong, there are parts of my body that I am proud of and that I can recognise and compliment.. but there are far more parts that I criticise and bully. I absolute hate that I do it and as soon as the thoughts or words come out, I regret it and tell myself to stop and to try harder to appreciate my body and everything it can do and to just bloody love myself for what I am because at the end of the day, that’s who I am and ultimately.. I am so happy in my life. I enjoy the food I eat, I enjoy the exercise I do, I enjoy the friends and family that surround me, I enjoy every second spent with my boyfriend, I enjoy it all... it’s time that I enjoy and appreciate my body how it is, in its entirety because I am strong, I am unique, I am beautiful, I am happy and everyone NEEDS to believe that about themselves ❤️

This picture was taken sometime in April-I think- last year, and honestly I love my body. I used to be insecure about it and I broke out of it a little when we did Moana for the end of the year concert but now I have embraced my body. I love it, I love me💛💛. Sorry, not sorry if you’re offended or creeped out or whatever by my self love but it isn’t for you- it’s for me. Self confidence and a healthy body image have always been a HUGE struggle for me. I'm pretty sure that we have all struggled with it at some point.

For years I struggled with an eating disorder.  Only seeing the flaws. It's so easy to pick your body apart and compare yourself to others. When was the last time you saw the beauty in yourself that others see? 
When you can finally realize that your worth has nothing to do with the image in the mirror you can start to appreciate your body for how amazing it truly is!  You can begin to love yourself and believe in yourself. You've always been beautiful! We are all perfectly imperfect. 💓😊

I have been absent for a while and haven’t posted in a long time. I wanted to post a little something about body image,  I know we hear it all the time, but it’s nice to be reminded. 
So if you’re currently pregnant you have probably seen a lot of changes in your body. If you’re feeling a little down or overwhelmed with pregnancy just remember that even though you look different you’re still YOU!! Pareciera que en este mundo dominado por la era digital, es cada día más difícil el trabajo de no compararse con lo que vemos en el mundo online. Vidas, cuerpos, relaciones, hijos y hasta mascotas perfectas. Te miras tú al espejo y sientes que eres cualquier cosa menos eso.

Pero resulta que en el mundo offline la realidad es distinta a la que muestran las redes.
.
Y al final pareciera que la gran mayoría estamos llenos de miedos, inseguridades, etc.
.
El trabajo no puede ser compararme con alguien que es distinto a mi (y que en realidad no sé cómo es su vida, puede ser toda una farsa digital), más bien, es trabajar en lo que quiero mejorar en mi y sobretodo comenzar a valorar mis virtudes, aptitudes, capacidades y logros, celebrarme cada uno, aceptarme, amarme, y esforzarme por vivir sanamente.

¿Cómo se hace? Con psicoterapia, actividades físicas, recreativas, espirituales. ¿Fácil? No, no dije que lo sea, pero creo que vale más la pena que vivir siempre lamentándome y comparando con otros todo sobre mí.

La salud se trabaja y esta implica también la parte emocional.

WARNING HALF NAKED THICCC BOI!!! ⚠⚠⚠⚠⚠⚠⚠⚠⚠⚠⚠⚠⚠⚠⚠ Body Image🚹 
This is a terrifying topic for me it plagues me, I have been battling with Bigorexia (body dysmorphia) since I was about 13 it has stopped me going places seeing people and destroyed my confidence. Even as a 6’3 125kg strongman I don’t see my size and I’m terrified of being small. When I was younger I was 6 foot tall and 65kg thin, weak and still to this day in groups I feel uncomfortable I’m constantly comparing myself to others. 
This is incurable it’s just something that I need to be aware of and work through, the motivation for this post was a picture that was taken at the Arnold Classic Melbourne of me and the people from my gym I look big and for about 0.2 seconds I was happy then bam if you so big why are you so weak, how can you be the same size as those other guys but not be anywhere as strong, these and many more are the thoughts that flood my mind.

The way to heal and push through is to recognise these thoughts not push them away but look at them and realise that they are wrong, realise I am strong I am the man I want to be. I know I’m not the only one I know a lot of guys in strength sports suffer from the same issue and for you guys its time to address this bring it to the surface and start dealing with this as a community we are strong along but guys we are so much stronger together.

We are there for each other every step of the way; and honestly I wouldn’t stick through it without them! Do you ever feel like your life is just off balance? 🙋‍♀️
You have good intentions to eat healthy,  cut out that processed sugar, more veggies, drink more water, get better sleep, exercise daily, etc. And as moms you're  busy juggling all that's on your plate; making sure your kids get their homework done, getting them to soccer practice, dance classes, music lessons, grocery shopping and trying to get in at least one healthy meal for your family....and the list goes on!
You find yourself doing pretty good and then BAM, life happens. Stress goes up and you go for the chocolate, the cookies, the chips,  and then you throw in the towel and don't bother with your workout because you've already blown it! 🙋‍♀️ Overwhelmed to the hilt!! Yes, I totally get you and understand completely!! I've been there and still have my moments!
About 3 years ago I was introduced to these color coded, food portion control containers ( which I was skeptical at first...thought oh boy  another fad!! But quickly found out I was wrong), which has helped me BALANCE my nutrition soooo much better for me and my family and that's been huge for me!! Because I've seen a change in my mindset about food....it's fuel for your mind and body!! And that emotional eating has improved soooo much!!🙌
This past month, the creator (Autumn)of these same color coded (rainbow containers) portion control containers has created a "Home Program" to help the whole family!
As a health/wellness coach I'm getting certified for this program and will earn a Master Certification so I can guide others to help them live a happier and healthier life that is simple yet satisfying.....still can enjoy your treats....not deprived!!

I am torn when people talk about the body positivity movement.

“I love my body the way it is… so it is okay that I eat the third slice of cake and skip the fifth workout this week.” Somehow we have skewed this movement into a sort of complacency. 
Yes, LOVE where you are at in your journey. Everyone’s journey is unique and different. We have diverse genetics and lifestyles so stop comparing yourself to strangers. Embrace every curve BUT don’t allow this self love make you neglect what your body truly needs.

If you love your body, you will want to take care of it. Don’t look at food or workouts as punishments and rewards. You will love your body by fueling it with nutrients and movement. You love your body by striving towards a healthier version of yourself. Don’t use self-love as an excuse to binge-eat or to be lazy. YES, love yourself and be comfortable in your own skin whether you are 100 pounds or 300 pounds, but hear me out. Girls who are size 2 and girls who are size 22 both have a hard time loving their own bodies and feeling confident in their own skin. 
I started my journey with self-love when I started taking care of my body from the inside out. I wanted to make a change. I wanted the negative body image thoughts to stop. I made a commitment to myself to work out six times a week. That is my commitment, not yours. What does yours look like? I committed to eating nutritionally dense foods. I strive towards a healthier version of myself. I go to sleep earlier. I make self-care a priority. I love my body for how I look in the NOW and not because of a body transformation. My body is the only body I will ever have, and it is the only one that has been given to me.  I want to take really good care of it, broccoli and (some) brownies included. You are beautiful so take care of and love your body.
