I am so excited to announce that I am co-hosting a podcast called Tense Gays! 🏽 This podcast has been a long time in the making and I'm so thankful to be doing it with @meyshameesh who has been so open and giving to me. ️ On Tense gays we talk about what's making us tense, share self-care practices we're doing to counter that, and shout-out local black, brown and queer events in Seattle and the surrounding areas. Tbh it is much like a therapy session for figuring out adulthood.
Because we are artists and don't know how to do one thing at a time, Tense Gays bas blossomed into the @BonnetBlackCollective , a in the works arts organization that will focus on connecting black and brown, queer artists and telling our stories as a way to uplift new ideas and bring about change. 🏽 I am filled with such excitement and tbh a little scared to be putting myself out there and screwing up somehow but I know this is my purpose. As an educator I know their are so many young people who are searching for representation and in need of help.
As a priority we are planning to connect with queer youth, create space and artwork of many disciplines that promote self-love and healthy relationships, attend as many queer events as we can, network with queer organizations, and just learn more about us so we can be better supporters of the movement towards transcending black and brown, queer wealth, knowledge, and most importantly love. 🏽 Check us out at bonnetblack.com if you are interested in listening to the podcast or getting connected with the Bonnet Black Collective. 🏽☮️️ #blackpride #blackpower #poc #peopleofcolor #melanin #blackexcellence #blackgirlmagic #blacklove #blackunity #blackisbeautiful #blackwomen #problack #blackmen #blackowned #blackempowerment - 19 minutes ago
