Labor story part 4-
We are now 12 hours into labor. Half way there. 7am on April 25, 2019. It’s still just me and Katzy in the room. I had already texted my girls to let them know to not come yet because I was “sleeping”. But sleeping never really happened because of (labor story part 3). I told them they could come in anytime they want now cause i only dilated to 5cm within the next 4 hours. Which means I’m 1/2 way there. But still have a while to go. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m dilating about 1/4 to 1/2 a cm per hour which is slow motion... and with all the ups and downs of mine and baby’s heart rate. No food. And just pure exhaustion from the day... I’m honesty beat. My brain is complete mush. I felt that I had nothing left in me to give to move or do. And I was frustrated at myself.
I’m thankful my girls came in because I fet so defeated. Thinking... “I did A B C D... and it amounted to nothing. I prepared my body for years prior to getting pregnant SO THAT I could have a natural unmedicated birth... but all of that meant nothing.” Just being honest guys.
My girls came in and there was this boost of moral and excitement (even though I could barely keep my eyes open). I’m so thankful for them. I felt so much more mental energy when I saw them. After almost a day and half of not eating, there was this physical and mental cloud that I just couldn’t shake off after I got the epidural. In all honesty if the nurse had come in to tell me to do a c section I probably would’ve caved in. That’s how exhausted I was. I had given up.
With the girls in the room I progressed from 5cm - 9cm in about 10 hours. They came up with all sorts of tricks to keep me awake. Patting, rocking, poking, dancing, singing, mooing... yes mooing LOLOLLLLLLLLL... we sounded like a circus in there. But hey it worked. And I still can’t believe to this day I get to call these girls my friends... I mean who else would make you laugh that hard when you’re about to give up... and MOO for you. LOLOLOL!!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
