My brother and sister-in-law drove down from Ohio and have been visiting us for the weekend. Our time was spent playing with the kids, cooking together, drinking wine, cracking sibling inside jokes, and talking on the couch until midnight-1am. While they were here they gave me the greatest compliment, ever. They said our house doesn't feel like we live in an apartment, it feels like a warm, cozy home. No matter where we live, I always want people to feel warm, welcome, and at home.
I am the middle of 5 siblings and we are all scattered over the US now. I think siblings can be the greatest gifts, but they're work. We have to really invest time and love into them. We have to protect them, especially as we get older because we are all each living our own separate lives now. It makes my heart so happy when we text, call, marco polo and skype... but best of all when we're together. I am so grateful for the solid sibling relationships I have, they mean the world to me. This weekend felt like home and it totally filled me up. I'm sad they're leaving but I am so grateful for our time together! I love you Eli and Em! See you soon. @emileelindahl @lindahleli - 1 hour ago
