My 1st Wedding!!!!!!!!! I am so grateful to the Lainhart’s for allowing me to document this special occasion. This was the perfect wedding to start out my wedding photography adventures. It was a small courthouse wedding, so it allowed me to really focus on the Bride and Groom. It gave me some great experience that will prepare me for the next wedding. Thankfully, I came fully prepared for a wedding of this size, but it showed me just how much I need to expand my gear before attempting a full wedding with all the various segments of the day. Getting ready, 1st look, family portraits, couples portraits, ceremony, & reception. But now that I’ve identified what I need to execute such a task, I can move forward with confidence knowing that I’ll have all of the technical elements I need. Knowing that I’m adequately equipped going into my next wedding will allow me to focus on the important (and fun) part. Being creative and capturing all the little moments that your couple will cherish forever!
So, I love this image because it tells the entire story of the day. Without context, some elements of this photo might seem like they don’t belong. The flag in the background, the items on the wall to the left, for example. But once you know that they are standing in the foyer of the city council chambers, where they have just said there marriage vows, the environment becomes important. I could have cropped in to just get the pretty lighting and their kiss. But for me, showing the environment celebrates the charms of their small intimate wedding experience. .
