Chloe didn't want her children to make the same mistakes she did. She didn't want them to be bullied at school because they have a fat mum. It kept her up at night.
Family and friends were gentle about her weight loss, but she was sick of putting herself in the corner. She knew she needed to do something and it had to come from within. She physically became fed up and couldn't pretend everything is ok anymore. She tried walking, Lite 'n Easy, all kinds of shakes and healthy eating.. but nothing worked. One day she was looking at her cup of shakes thinking "Is this it for the rest of my life?" She was terrified at the thought of surgical intervention, but it was a do or die situation. Her children needed her to be functional. She was also terrified of failing again, she was drowning in her own struggle with weight loss.
But when the scales showed 172kg, her world stopped turning. Can weight loss surgery help her lose 100kg and reclaim her health? That was the rawest moment of her journey, it was traumatic.
Chloe's journey will continue tomorrow in Episode 3, stay tuned.
