Just an FYI for those people looking into body fat percentage...numbers vary greatly by the device you’re using. I know that DEXA is the most reliable, but I only have 2 more scans with them. I’ll be using InBody for progress monitoring. Big Friday session to end a really productive week of training and including plenty of variety to build up into the competitive athletics season🏃🏻‍♂️💪🏻🏋🏻‍♂️
.
The first 🎥 followed the warm up and the routine allowed me to keep loads progressive, keep movement quality high and more importantly take the working muscles through a full range before doing the main element🔑✅
.
The routine included 5 rounds of the following:
.
▪️5 High Step Ups - each leg
▪️5 Barbell Rollouts
▪️10 Cal Ski Erg
.
The second 🎥 starts with speed squats👌🏻but in order to elicit the right metabolic response the speed of these must be done as fast as possible💯I like to hold my breath for 3-4 reps when doing these to help me move quickly and keep a good position throughout each rep👌🏻
.
The main element consisted of the following:
.
▪️4 sets of Speed Squats @ 60-80kg Ascending weight
▪️3 sets of 10 x KB front rack Lunges + 10 x KB front rack step ups @ moderate load
.
The final conditioning element was tasty and definitely achieved its aim 😂🥵- 3 rounds of the following:
.
▪️50m Hard True Form Push
▪️50m Farmers Walk - Heavy
▪️50m Crawl .

I swear I don’t just do cleans 😂 today I did some power clean work, focusing on getting under the bar quicker and a more fluid transition going into front squats. My squat cleans are always hesitant. Also did some overhead work today with clean and jerks. Finished off my lift with focusing on back and front squats for depth. Body is definitely in need of some yoga after all the lifts this week and being thrown into learning starboard yesterday 😩 it’s been tough, but always gotta challenge yourself or you’ll never grow! 💪🏽

#backsquat never used to like these! Always get uncomfortable, blamed my knees, and lower back!!!!
The solution was to work on my mobility! This I do on a daily basis. 
So now after around 4-5 weeks I’m now starting to progress this movement. 
100kg to some is light work, but for me it’s great progress. 
I intend to keep going and improving Barbell squats.

This year is passing so fast, and so much is going on, it can be hard to remember ourselves and our goals. 📆 .
2019 is my year of reinvention, I’m focusing on changing my career👷🏻‍♀️, my finances, my education👩🏻‍🏫, and my fitness🏃🏻‍♀️! To keep my accountable I’ve told everyone and my mother🗣 so I’m constantly reminded that, “oh yeah! These are my goals and I’ve got to prove everyone...and myself... that I can do it!”

I always write down everything I want to accomplish during the week. ✍🏻 Small goals, achievable goals, that head me in the right direction. 🔝🔛

Now, life gets in the way and sometimes I completely fail at achieving my goals, but the BIGGEST most important goal is, ‼️NEVER. EVER. GIVE UP!! ‼️Cliché right? It’s true!💯

1️⃣single leg deadlift. I have bad ankles and therefore having a knee on a bench helps support✅
2️⃣romanian deadlifts with elevated ball of feet- targeting🍑🍑
3️⃣leg push downs using assisted pull up/dip machine- got some funny looks for this cause of course targets an entirely different muscle than the machine intends, however it really does burn!❤️❤️ -

I decided to mix things up a little today and did a workout inspired by @nickkomodina and @paigereilly and wow. It was amazing.  The RDL variation gave me the best hamstring burn I have had in a while (if you haven’t tried this 10000% recommend). It took me a min to get it right but wow. I love the Instagram fitness community because I’m always learning new exercise variations and I love trying new things.

Hitting some full body work this weekend starting with this beast. Why don’t you join me!!

Doesn’t look like a lot on paper but the primary exercises of each superset are to be loaded with weight for the 6 reps which when paired with the kicker is going to get you tired quickly.
•
Looking to build some strength and power endurance with some metabolic conditioning with this one. More functional movements to allow the body to engage naturally.
•
Keep it fast, keep it powerful and take it on full steam ahead 👊🏼

Not the biggest weight you’ll see being lifted but it’s a massive show of progress for me! 🏋🏻‍♂️
This time last year I couldn’t front squat properly at all due to mobility issues (front rack/ankle/hips) and the difference between now and then is crazy to look back on 😆

Day 2 on the program everything is moving very smooth. Bench and deadlift seemed heavy at first but it’s all mental because looking back at the video all the reps had great speed. Benching has always been a mental game for me so that is something I’m trying very hard to work on during this early part of the program.
