• IT’S YOUR REACTION THAT MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE •
🙄 Have you ever taken something your partner said to you the wrong way?
😬 Have you ever had unexpected plans pop up with friends or family mid way through a “challenge” and it throw your diet completely out?
🤭 Have you ever had someone cut you off in traffic or been held up in traffic etc. and it have a direct effect on your mood?
So often your habits, learned patterns and behaviours, and emotions become triggered and take control in the blink of an eye.
So often your REACTION has directly affected the outcome of a situation before you’ve even had time to discern between the actual EVENT that was present and the OUTCOME in which you’ve now had a hand in causing.
Event + STORY = Problem
Event + No Story = NO PROBLEM
Too often than not our reactions to any given event in life, whether immediately in the moment or even how we carry it on, are actually what CAUSE the problem that we now see as the outcome!
If you could stop!
Take a breath, and either drop the story completely or better yet flip it on its head to a conversation of “how/why is this happening FOR me?”, rather than “to me”, you will be pleasantly surprised with the outcome you may now find yourself living.
What if you’d reacted differently and asked for clarification before assuming you knew what your partner meant or maybe even just taking it exactly for what it is they said (no story behind it)?
🥳 What if rather than it throwing your whole day or week or month out, your enjoyed that spontaneous dinner and drinks with friends and used that to give you more energy and vitality to stick to your diet the remainder of the challenge?
What if rather than getting worked up or rushing and stressing, you CHOSE to put your favourite song the on the radio and enjoy the time to just chill in the car?
