Our society for the most part is trained to see young people as fitness role models. There are proportionally far more young people on magazine covers, on TV, and in films than in the actual population.
Example: in North America 19% of the populous is under 15 years old and 15% is over 65. In Europe 16% is under 15 and 18% is over 65. (source: Statista, 2018 stats)
As a result, we have a society taught to see the young and ignore the not-so-young.
In truth, in business, it’s advantages to find a young and healthy spokesperson for a product that’s being marketed because companies need not provide clinical facts about the benefits of their product. The average consumer is visually stimulated so companies capitalize on this fact.
Don’t allow this marketing mentality to influence how you view yourself. Know your worth.
