If you’re happy and you know it, you show it 🥰
It’s true. We openly show the world our emotions when we are happy and having a good day. But for some reason, we struggle with sharing our hurt, shame, anger, sad, even with the people closest to us.
If I’ve learned anything from this beautiful child in my arms (she’s not mine, she’s my childhood best friends’), she’s not afraid to share her emotions with us.
She openly exudes her feelings: frustration when she can’t roll over like she wants to, anger when she’s tired or hungry, sad when she misses her mama, and joy when she thinks our stupid faces and ridiculous high pitched noises are funny. 🏼all of which happens in the span of 10 min
And we accept All. Of. Her. In each of those emotions.
So why do we hide ours? Our God wants to hold us, hear our cries of frustration, pain, and anger along with celebrating with us in the good times, and feel all of it WITH us.
He accepts all of you—even your deep brokenness
You’re not crazy. Your feelings are valid. But they can quickly have power over us when we don’t openly share them. They can cause us to do crazy things or believe false narratives. Which is why... it is so important to bring all of us (anger, sadness, hurt—all of it) to the Lord and have his truth poured over us.
It is very hard to feel those things and it might not fit into your schedule today... but I promise you it’s worth. Make time to feel what’s going on in your heart and bring it to Jesus.
You will begin to see Gods love displayed so clearly and find a deeper relationship with him who created every emotion you’re feeling right now.
Let’s take after this little one and practice sharing what’s truly on our hearts with the Lord and those we trust
