I LOVE Monday mornings! Those are my happiest moments of the week (together with Friday evenings). Today’s morning was particularly relaxing , because the weekend was particularly busy. We had three kids birthday parties, family diner and a 3 hour long theater rehearsal. It was tiring for me and most certainly exhausting for my son. Though he noticed that only at 9:30 pm Saturday evening, when he got home after birthday party #2 . He was so pale that in the semi-darkness of ambiance light of my foyer his face seemed to be blueish and greenish. Apparently he got car sick on the way back. Luckily he spared his hosts a presentation of a menu he ate earlier that day such as two BD pizzas, two BD cakes, a lot of sweets, coca cola and tons of other junk food. And of course after he spent 6 hours literally running and jumping like crazy with his friends I was not surprised that he felt tired and sick. He entered the house made two steps and drop himself on a chair, looked at me trying to squeeze out him a miserable smile and said: “Mom, I am unable to go upstairs”. I felt a bit concerned. He looked like a zombie 🧟♂️ . Even his lips and all around his mouth was blue. He probably ate some blue sweets.
I told him: “I see. However it’s worrisome, because I cannot carry you upstairs. You are so big now! And you look like a zombie”. He asked me : “Why?” I answered: “Your face is blue, your lips are blue”. “Ah yeah? It’s because I ate a blue powder.” He got silent for a moment and then asked: “Are my eyes yellow? Are my bones sticking out?” I said “No, of course not! It’s a joke. You just look so tired and... blue...” “Well, I am not a zombie 🧟♂️, .... because my eyes are not yellow....” He took my hand and we went upstairs. He needed to have a good rest before going to a birthday party #3 next morning.
Kids are resilient creatures. I cannot stop being amazed. This afternoon, after he had a very little sleep last night and after he had a regular school day today, he was riding his horse and then spent an hour having his karate class. What an energy!
I am looking forward to having my Friday evening.
