Congratulations to everyone who finished the Keto Reboot June Edition with me. I didn’t feel ready for this one at all. The date came to soon and I had quite a few stressors in my life the last week. I reminded myself that I committed to one every month this year for my over all health and I did not want to let myself down. LC keto yeast bread and leftover food from my fridge. It's good to have something already cooked after a long day. Just reheat them up and shove it down. Found an injured bird on the road. I thought it was dead until it moved its head. The bird suffered a broken leg. We decided to keep it and eat it later. No. Just kiddin. We'll released it once it's healed.

Yesterday, late lunch was extremely difficult for me. The hunger pangs and foodie desires were so prevalent it had me march into Pret and buy a smoothie to break my fast. .

As I stepped out I thought what on earth are you doing, there's not long to go now!! . My consciousness weak as my body is currently feeling steered me into Sainsbury's and a bottle of water saved me. .

I’ve had a mild case of food poisoning over the last few days and I feel super crappy. I’ve been fasting the majority of this week as I’m hoping that #autophagy will help me heal faster... it just hasn’t quite happened fast enough 🤷🏻‍♀️

WHAT BREAKS A FAST & WHAT DOESN’T? Any form of calories will technically break a fast.  Consuming fat (coconut oil, MCT oil, or exogenous ketones) in your fasting window will shift your body from burning body fat to burning dietary fat, and while it may not kick you out of ketosis, it will break a fast. The question is —> are you fasting for insulin sensitivity & ketosis OR are you fasting for AUTOPHAGY, LONGEVITY, RESETING YOUR MICROBIOME, and increasing STEM CELL production?  If you answer is the latter then keep your supplements IN you eating window and OUT of the fasting window.  If your goal is to up-regulate autophagy:
WATER Fasting promotes the highest levels during hour 24-48+ during a fast.  The only allowed things during this window are Water, minerals, @redmondrealsalt Electrolytes: Potassium, Magnesium, etc. (with no added sugars), Sparkling Mineral Water, and a Toxin Binder (Highly recommended due to the high amount of modern environmental toxins that can be stored in the body and released during times of fasting). The purpose of a true water fast is to let the body run its own course and utilize its own stores to rebuild and restore the mind, body, and spirit.

Water Fast Week 1 Day 6:

I am 270.4lbs now and still see my body fat increasing. I am waiting to see how my body fat% reads once I’ve had food and a larger amount of water in my system. I’m hoping for a full gallon tomorrow. 
Tomorrow is a progress pic day to see what’s happened to my body since the fast started. Unfortunately the original image I posted last week was a mirror pic and the camera hid some fat. Will make sure tomorrow’s pics show every flaw, I know this will make it easier to spot changes along the way.

A little halfway over my fasting goal. But I realized by hour 56 it’s going to be 8pm and that is almost my bed time. There is a strong chance I may break my fast sometime Thursday morning instead... but I don’t normally eat breakfast... hmmm decisions decisions. You know I may cook a nice steak tomorrow evening and prepare an early lunch the next day. We shall see!! Perhaps my body will kick into ketosis by then. Right now I feel good! My stomach has been growling here and there but not hungry at all. Actually I truly feel like I’m giving my body a break and time to wind down. It’s very calming if that makes any sense. Wanna know what else is great about fasting? I finally got around to cleaning the bathroom lol. Now it’s clean! Speaking of clean, my body is being cleaned out too! Yay autophagy! 🤣😉 🧽 🦠 .

A little halfway over my fasting goal. But I realized by hour 56 it’s going to be 8pm and that is almost my bed time. There is a strong chance I may break my fast sometime Thursday morning instead... but I don’t normally eat breakfast... hmmm decisions decisions. You know I may cook a nice steak tomorrow evening and prepare an early lunch the next day. We shall see!! Perhaps my body will kick into ketosis by then. Right now I feel good! My stomach has been growling here and there but not hungry at all. Actually I truly feel like I’m giving my body a break and time to wind down. It’s very calming if that makes any sense. Water Fast Week 1 Day 6:

I consumed 1.5 liters of water today. I’m definitely feeling very weak but I believe that this is due to lack of water consumption. I spent most of my day running behind my kids and wasn’t really focused on the tying my water in the way I should have. 
It was definitely rough at some moments because I was feeding them every couple of hours. All the food looked and smelled so good and I just wanted to give in. Started this blog is definitely a life saver because it’s puts me in a “it’s too late to turn back now” mindset. I’ll finally be eating in less than 12 hours and I’m super excited. Will still have minimized portions since I haven’t eaten in 6 days! 🥘

Today’s workout was taken easy again. I started off with a 10 minute cardio warm up on the treadmill. Then completed 4 sets of 20 on every movement. I got to the gym later today than I normally would because I have my children with me. I miss my more extensive workouts but I keep in mind that they will be back soon.

It’s been almost 3 days since my last 48 hour fast and just started another one.

I chose the 18:6 intermittent fast on the app (fast for 18 hrs, 6 hr eating window) but I plan on going at least 48 hrs with no food.

During this time I’ll be drinking water, tea (green and dandelion root)and my ketones.

I had ice cream 🍨 for dessert since it fit my macros. Still under calories for today, but reasonable. 
Tomorrow, I plan to fast for 24 hours. Fasting is not starvation. Starvation is malnutrition and I get everything I need after the 24 hours is up. Fasts teach your body to understand real hunger cues and also helps you get into ketosis or a deeper ketosis. Autophagy is stage your body enters after 24 hours of fasting and is good for cell renewal and fighting disease. I usually can last another hour or 2 of autophagy at a time. It is supposed to help with loose skin too, and I definitely have that from dropping 40 lbs this year, along with my lovely daughter who stretched my tummy to the max 🤰🏽🥰

2️⃣ Brain health- Researchers observe that fasting pushes you to produce more chemicals that can lower oxidative stress and inflammation, reduce your resting heart rate, increase autophagy, and likely boost your brain power.
3️⃣ Better blood sugar- When you fast intermittently, insulin levels go down (thus decreasing insulin resistance) and glucagon goes up which has been shown to have benefits like increased metabolism, more energy, improved mood, and weight loss.

For years and years, I had a really bad on and off relationship with the food. This had everything to do with bad eating habits, easy access to junk food and lack of knowledge. I was  always unhappy about myself. I wouldn't step out of the house with out a full blown makeup. Dont get me wrong I still do put lots of makeup even till today but it's nothing to do with my insecurities, my bad acne or my big fat chubby cheeks trying to contour them to look slimmer. 
My personality and health growth has become more prominent due to ketogenic lifestyle. Thanks to this diet I feel more happier and confident. Again I know I am not the skinniest girl out there but I am definitely healthier than I was ever before. Now I am on a mission to raise awareness to encourage people to start more healthier lifestyle.
