“Moj Pies” 30x60”
In Polish “Moj Pies” means “my dog”, anybody that knows me, knows what a high station dogs hold in my heart. Dogs are the absolute representation of fidelity, faithfulness, love, the incarnation of sweetness. In this piece the coyote/dog figure appears to be dreaming of an abstract world. I grew up speaking Polish in my family-of-origin-home. Polish carries a strong nurturing energy, moving me deeper than English. English was always the language of logic, debate, linear and cognitive thinking, I was educated in English. But Polish remains the language of the heart. I hope this piece moves your heart as much as it moves mine. .
Another thought, in some indigenous traditions, the future is what is behind us and the past is what is in front of us, because we can see our past but we cannot see our future. Perhaps the abstract world is what is coming to the dog figure.... like in Jungian dream theory, The dreams foretell what is coming into being, and art-making is one of the paths towards the unconscious, as are dreams. I believe the unconscious holds a vast wealth of knowledge, it’s one with the creative force. ️ - 2 hours ago
