Living in a mess of perspectives and opinions
She's taught to let judgements cloud her conscience
In all dimensions of this world,
Where does she really belong?
In their discreet identities,
Should her just dissolve?
But she's told to never speak up,
Never ask why, simply believe what meets the eye.
And so she lives.
And so she lives for years together
Trying to perfect what doesn't matter
Questioning, although tied
Looking for answers she was denied
But after growing up,
Not knowing what she has missed,
She tends to forget what color her soul is
In an effort to blend in
She becomes what she's not,
And despite all the approvals she once sought,
Within her she knows
That this perfect fit
Is not going to last
She knows. She knows that change takes courage.
But she's got only one life on this mortal sphere,
And if she wants to be herself,
She has to let go of her fear,
Close her eyes and wish that, right here,
All that's left of her beautiful world would freeze,
The sunset would bring her that peace
So she could come alive
Liberate her heart
And be able to call her true self again
