If you want to gain muscle mass, compound lifts should be your priority when training. Biceps curls and triceps kickbacks are great and all, but they should by no means be the main focus of your workout. ⁣

Performing 5 different types of curls on arm day is less than ideal, especially from a functional standpoint. Performing compound lifts allows for the most muscle group engagement, allowing you to overload your body with quite the load and to hit multiple muscles with one movement. This allows for a great deal of mechanical tension, one of three ways a muscle can grow and arguably the most important. ⁣

Another thing that is important with compounds is the high hormonal output as a result of performing the movement under a great load, putting your body in quite an anabolic environment. They also have the added benefit of burning a ton of calories each set and are several times more transferable to performance. ⁣

OVER HEAD TRICEP EXTENSION with ROPES ON THE CABLE!!! This is top five movements/exercises for me for several different reasons 
1. Complete and total stretch of the long head of the TRICEP (guys this is where the mass part of the arm comes in so super critical)
2. Doing this movement on the cables gives you resistance the whole time! As you will see in the future my main focus is CONSTANT TENSION aka TIME UNDER TENSION. science shows THIS is where growth happen 
3. Doing this movement with the rope allows me to really fight the resistance at the top with a extra squeeze by forcing the rope ends apart at the VERY end of the movement. SQUEEZE!! I did this exercise for 7 SETS as my LAST exercise for a SHOULDER with TRICEP day

Also tried to show the prop mount and dis-mount for getting in to position 
Have the pulley system (where the cable begins) at least where you butt is. Keeping it higher will lead to an easier mount and dis-mount 
Lastly keep the cable as close to your body/back as you can

I see people doing all types of crazy workouts on here. Maybe it’s for the gram 🤷🏾‍♂️. But whatever the case may be, nothing beats simple, form focused, intensity driven workouts. The K.I.S.S method is my friend. I employ it in my workouts, as well as in my client workouts (I train them the same way I train myself), and the results happen. •

Been quiet but still plugging away. Got to play catch up in the gym again yesterday from missing earlier in the week. Hit shoulders, arms and core, but still feeling weak trying to kick up and stabilize anything with dumbbells overhead. ~
If you ever want to realize how much one little muscle can affect you, injure your deltoid. I injured my right posterior delt about 3 months ago doing close, reverse grip pull downs, felt like I almost sawed right through it. Since then just been trying to rehabilitate it and avoiding most overhead movements.
~
This has really helped me understand how much everything is interconnected in order to stabilize your body while you lift. Also how many exercises are affected by one accessory muscle that you wouldn’t even think is involved unless you’ve studied about it or injured it. Luckily I’m in the middle of doing both right now 😬😁

"Современные бодибилдеры занимаются крайне нездоровыми вещами. Например инсулин. Не являясь диабетиком, применять инсулин просто, чтобы стать большим – это слабоумие. Именно это и является причиной некачественной соревновательной формы. К тому же не тешьте себя иллюзией что это не ударит по здоровью в долгосрочной перспективе. 
Далее высокопротеиновые диеты, на которых они сидят. Некоторые едят до 600 грамм протеина в день. Думаю, что это чистое безумие. Можно достаточно быстро получить проблемы с почками. Да и нужно ли это на самом деле? Обычный человек вообще обходится ста граммами в день. Если вы увеличиваете это количество в 2-3 раза, т.к. вы – бодибилдер, я это понимаю, но когда увеличение идет в 4 и больше раз, это перебор. Вам это не нужно, пустая трата. Вы либо высрете это, либо переработаете в глюкозу.
Да и в целом они сейчас конкретно переедают. Вы насилуете свою пищеварительную систему, питаясь слишком часто. Есть надо только тогда, когда вы голодны. Это просто здравый смысл, но в современном бодибилдинге его больше нет..."
