Let’s be transparent for a second.
I post on my profile my running journey (among other things) and most of those workouts/races are things I’m proud of. To not deceive anyone from the daily process I undergo, I want to show you parts of this journey that are rough. (Disclaimer: these are not pics from today’s workout)
Yeah, a lot of things you see from pro athletes or any athlete, on social media, aspiring to get to the next level, are you usually glamorous and results of the process. However, they can lack the dark or hard days that got them there. Today is a prime example of a hard day for myself. With the bad weather, icy and snowy roads in Steubenville, our team was given a routine workout under very less than ideal conditions. While not coming near the time goals for the workout today, I changed my mindset to surviving the workout. These days are frequent and happen sometimes more than I would like. It’s truly a matter of hunkering down and moving on to keep the “ball rolling.” Those days are never pretty, and most times I want to throw in the towel and use a billion excuses to stop.
Don’t give up when it’s gets tough, just dedicate yourself in that tough situation to getting past it; it’ll pay off and when it does, you’ll remember those moments - 22 hours ago
