This week we’re highlighting Hayden Morgan!
Hayden is an aerospace Master’s student who joined the lab back in June. Affectionately nicknamed “Apron Boy,” Hayden has spent much of his time in the lab so far wearing the apron featured above while prepping to study co-propagating, light beams and laser-cooled particle beams in our UHV system for the self-guided beamed propulsion concept we’ve mentioned before. You can catch a glimpse of the full system design in his super detailed CAD model! Hayden is especially excited about this research, because it is helping pave the way for future deep space exploration!
We’re unsure if Hayden got any sleep during his undergrad at the University of Cincinnati, between his involvement on their Hyperloop and Fly UC teams, his research on solid rocket fuels, and his multitude of hobbies including bread baking, wood working, reviewing restaurants on Google, calligraphy, and hanging out with his adorable dog Betty. He’s brought all of this and a newfound love for the greeting “howdy” to the lab. It seems to be going well so far because earlier this week Boris said, “he’s cool.” And if that 5 star review doesn’t convince you, nothing will.
