Oh my what a day and what a view! We were visiting Happisburgh to collect dog biscuits from the lovely Jan at Nero’s Kitchen. We leave them as a welcome gift to all our doggie guests. 😃
I then stumbled across the fact that it was open day at Happisburgh Church and Happisburgh Lighthouse. Having been up the lighthouse a few years ago, but never the church, climbing the tower was the obvious choice!
Steep stairs with a metal spiral staircase at the top is not for the faint heated, but what a reward you get at the top!
The most amazing views across Norfolk. You can see to Mundesley up the coast, down to Sea Palling in the other direction and inland for miles.
Here’s the view over Happisburgh village. You can see the lighthouse, the beach and in the foreground, the lovely Hill House Inn. They serve great pub grub, a Sunday carvery, have a coffee shop on site, brew their own beer and hold an annual beer festival.
This is all within walking distance of Bramble Cottage. Next availability is in October.
Open days are held during some Summer weekends, advertised on the church website.
