There is static balance – peace of mind, lack of movement.
And there is dynamic balance – equally strong forces pulling you in different directions.
Tiday is the Spring Equinox, a day of equally long daytime and nightime. Now we are slowly tipping the balance point towards longer daytimes.
I’ve always loved balancing. It can completely absorb my attention!
Lately, I’ve been diving a bit more into the principles of alignment when teaching silks (based on the book by @the_artist_athlete and Cirque Psysiotherapist @cirque_physio ). It seems like that both the principles of static balance (staking your joints on top of each other) and counterbalance play an important role in aerials.
