Some people are going to listen to this, and think why even try? Why would I even want to do something if I can work as hard as I possibly can and still not be successful?
Because believe it or not, sports are just like life. SOME PEOPLE ARE GOING TO HAVE IT WAY EASIER THAN YOU. But that shouldn’t stop you in your relentless pursuit of getting to where you want to be.
I always tell people that there’s two reactions to situations in which things didn’t go your way, regardless of how hard you worked for it.
You can either:
1. Play the victim and complain.
2. Accept it, learn from it, and try again.
Would the hardest worker always coming out on top be great? Sure, but there is beauty in the struggle. Are you going to fold under adversity, or are you going to use it to drive you?
No participation trophies. Your feelings don’t win games.
