Are you willing to trade it in?
**For those that are genuinely happy with where they are in all areas of life, I commend you for the work you have and are putting in and you can always skip to the bottom ;)**.
For those of us interested in pursuing more, what would you say?
An easy yes, on the surface, when we look at all the things we don’t like about our day to day situation, but what about the things we do like?
The daily comforts.
The habits and patterns you’ve gotten used to.
The friends you’ve made and the norms you’ve developed with them.
The feeling of competence if remain where you are.
These are the things that anchor us to our current: way of life, way of thinking and way looking at the world. In general, we have an innate belief that we are right, that what we think is correct and the actions we take are appropriate (even if they aren’t we tend to justify it anyway). These are the things that look so welcoming when we get bruised up exploring into the unknown and what call us back to “rest for a while”.
Again, I don’t want it to seem like we shouldn’t rest. That might actually be the thing that helps you grow because you refuse to rest when you know you need to. The tricky part there is, the body and mind have a breaking point and if we don’t respect that line we will quite literally be put on our ass (you get sick, reduced capacity/ability to deal with stress, thinking in general…).
Let’s take this back to health and fitness. There is a reality that exists with every level of fitness you progress through from the non-existent phase-> beginner-> enthusiast-> veteran -> PRO/ATHLETE-> Goku :P . Below are some things that I believe are a norm for experienced lifters.
Go through and ask yourself if you:
-have an idea of what you need to get done.
-keep to your weekly training schedule because your training time is a value.
-take the appropriate recovery time.
-Eat and drink in a manner that will hit your targets.
-invest into yourself to learn and grow mentally as well as physically.
-have friends encouraging them to continue.
Most importantly- they MAKE the time for these things.
So I ask again, are you willing to trade it in? 🤔 - 10 hours ago
