#80DO, Rd 2, Day 62 of 80: BOOTY!! Yeah, I've been a little MIA over the weekend. Totally not like myself. A lot of unexpected events and things we had to do this weekend. Kept putting my Saturday workout off, until it turned into Monday... I've even got on my workout clothes I had laid out for Saturday, because I had every intention to #finishstrong on Saturday. DEADLIFT DAYYY! 😤😤 No DLs for a few weeks cos we only have a fat bar (?? Idk what its called, but it’s thicker than a powerbar) in my gym and I can barely grip it.😢 had to get straps (it took me weeks to finally decide that I should get one). Feeling super good and strong!! I think my mini DIY program is working.🤩 DEADLIFT DAY WORKOUT:
1. Sumos @ 115kg - 3x5
2. Deficit Conventional @ 80kg - 4x8-10
3. DB Isolated Rows - 3x10,8 (dropset)
4. SUPERSET: Cable Lat Pulldowns->seated underhand cable rows - 4x10

Say you're an average person weighing 70kgs
.
You workout 3 times per week and do plenty of steps per day
.
Id tell you that to lose weight, you'd want to be hitting around 1800 calories per day
.
1800 calories from good food IS a lot of food
.
But just because its a lot of food, doesn't mean its a lot of calories. Too many calories will make you put weight on, not too much food
.
If you compare 'healthy' food to 'junk' food, you'll see what im talking about
.
A large Big Mac meal with a coke contains just over 1000 calories with 30g of protein
.
Stir fried chicken with broccoli & brown rice is 500 calories per serving and contains 33g of protein

If you had 2 servings of the stir fry to match the calories in the Big Mac, you would be eating a lot of food but getting the same amount of calories, doubling your amount of protein meaning you will be fuller for longer and you're less likely to be hungry again for a good few hours

Anyone that's eaten a Big Mac meal will know that you're hungry again in about half an hour meaning that you're a lot more likely to graze on snacks or get another takeaway which contains another 1000 calories which means by just having 2 takeaway meals per day, you're already over your daily calories

After training with the team at @up_north_pt  @upfitnesswomen you never lose the mindset and skills your coaches share with you! I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to do 25 miles on my road bike or keep up with a cycling club, but put myself out there and did it anyway. I absolutely loved it and knocked out 31miles, half of which was into the 💨 wind!! Happy with my work ethic today #motivationmonday

One of the major theories behind the benefits of both intermittent fasting and caloric redirection (70-80% less food) is the modulation of inflammatory pathways. .
Intermittent fasting caught on as this “must do” for anyone losing weight and some of the information was slightly misunderstood, especially regarding the GH response (not necessarily anabolic if IGF1 isn’t stimulated). Regardless on your thoughts for performance, the “controlled” autophagy that comes about from intermittent fasting and possibly caloric restriction as well, helps “restore” some of the less effective cellular machinery - which is why it is often referred to as a “controlled metabolic stressor”. .
This type of controlled stressor has been shown to regulate specific stress hormones and inflammatory pathways. .
However! It is important to note that most of these studies (I have not read them all) are done on non-physically active individuals, especially not active like an athlete. Remember that exercise itself is a controlled metabolic stressor and when you start placing too large of a demand on the body it has to bend or break (Hormesis like model). There is one case study I came across (not remembering the title) that showed an increase in Cortisol:Testosterone ratio with intermittent fasting (at times used as a sign of over training)

Hey Girls! Many of you would think that I starve myself in order to maintain the weight. Yes, it sounds logical that if a person is not gaining weight then he/she must be eating less.

But that’s not true...I’m a human and share same habits as you. Might be you are good at something better than me or vice versa. I also do binge eating sometimes. I too ate outside of allowed calories by my coach. Let’s agree upon that we cannot be on diet forever. Few breaks in between is necessary for all of us.

What has changed in past 3-4 years is that-

1.  I started noticing my habits which use to sum up in unhealthy lifestyle.

2.  I started controlling portion sizes.

3.  I increased my physical activity level.

4.  I started loving the way I use to feel after completing my workout sessions.

5.  I focused more towards overall well being which included healthy diet, good sleep, training my body to be strong, paid gym membership instead of medical bills, changed my outlook by not looking for any shortcuts, did not follow any fad diets.

6.  Stopped giving lame excuses to me for not doing what it takes to get your dream body. 
In the process, my mindset improved, my body changed, positivity around me got increased, started practicing self love.

And the Universe blessed me with HEALTH AND PEACE.

Hey Girls! Many of you would think that I starve myself in order to maintain the weight. Yes, it sounds logical that if a person is not gaining weight then he/she must be eating less. But that’s not true...I’m a human and share same habits as you. Might be you are good at something better than me or vice versa. I also do binge eating sometimes. I too ate outside of allowed calories by my coach. Let’s agree upon that we cannot be on diet forever. Few breaks in between is necessary for all of us. What has changed in past 3-4 years is that- 1.  I started noticing my habits which use to sum up in unhealthy lifestyle. 2.  I started controlling portion sizes. 3.  I increased my physical activity level. 4.  I started loving the way I use to feel after completing my workout sessions. 5.  I focused more towards overall well being which included healthy diet, good sleep, training my body to be strong, paid gym membership instead of medical bills, changed my outlook by not looking for any shortcuts, did not follow any fad diets. 6.  Stopped giving lame excuses to me for not doing what it takes to get your dream body. In the process, my mindset improved, my body changed, positivity around me got increased, started practicing self love.
