A solo 10k on a perfectly unplanned route listening to Chuck C give a talk from the 1980s ❀️ I so didn't want to run this evening but the talk. Made the time pass quickly and easily. training should always enhance your life - not take away from it. this doesn’t mean to take it easy. this means that there is too little and too much. finding your sweet spot for your goals, your life, and what you ultimately want out of training is seldom talked about but extremely important.

this even goes for competitive athletes. you can burn yourself out in a hurry if you aren’t careful. turning yourself OFF from training/sport is just as important as being locked in when it’s go time.

the sweet spot where you’re taking care of business, training for your goals, and doing the right amount of work/rest is where you’ll see the best progress.
