Years ago, if you told me (Beth) I’d be leading hundreds of men and women on a journey through the Enneagram, I’d have said, “No, no, that’s not for me.” But, after exploring the Enneagram and unlocking all the best parts of myself, I can’t imagine that I was meant for anything else!⠀
.⠀
I’m excited to announce that on November 5th, we’re opening the doors for our Become an Enneagram Coach course again.⠀
.⠀
Today, try opening your heart to new possibilities and new ministry opportunities. Ask the Lord for wisdom as you consider a new path for your career. Pray specifically for ways to use the very gifts He’s already equipped you with. 💜⠀

God didn’t remove the Red Sea.
He opened it.
He will make a way for you to get through this hard season too.
I know singleness is lonely. I know college is daunting. I know forgiving somebody that stole your innocence isn’t fair. I know that you wish you had a good earthly dad.
I really do get how exhausting life can be.
But stop praying for your hardships to be gone and start praying that God uses the heck out of them to help you grow and glorify Him.
Ok? Ok 💗

Just a girl in Starbucks whipping up some dreams and goals. Have I talked recently about working from a place of rest instead of hustle? I wasn’t sure if I’d mentioned it here {sarcasm}.
.
This is your friendly reminder that functioning out of rest doesn’t = being lazy. It means trusting the Man Upstairs & and heck, believing in yourself & going for it until He tells you to sit down. #MoreHeartLessHustling

Today’s post is not for everyone. It may cause some people to become unsettled and ruffle some feathers, but I’m writing from a perspective of what’s best for our family, not with judgement of what others do. If I’m being completely honest, I never thought I’d find myself writing a blog post about Halloween, let alone writing a blog post about why our family will not be celebrating Halloween any longer. I didn’t plan on writing about this topic, but God had other ideas. So here we are. Blog post is up! Click "Blog Link" in profile to read more 👉🏻 @trulybeckypeter

When disasters strike, faith and our love for each other play a huge role in how our culture responds.
.
Today, co-founder @vreyner interviewed co-founder @rachelgoode on what she’s currently seeing as culture & faith collide in light of #hurricanemichael. We talked about how people have lost everything, how social media has helped, not hurt, and what the mundane life looks like as people settle into their new normal. Check it out in our live stories.

Truth from the October #faithartbox devotional, “Dwell in Unity.” 🙌🏼 How has this month’s study affected the way you love others? Through the devo and our #bsfinternational study of Joshua 22, God has revealed my tendency to judge others for worshipping differently than me. He is refining my heart! I have been quicker to listen, accept, and love our uniqueness. 💗

You, God, are my God,
earnestly I seek you;
I thirst for you,
my whole being longs for you,
in a dry and parched land
where there is no water.

Good morning beautiful!! 🌸

Have you ever had a backseat driver tell you directions?
Why is that so annoying? 🙄

You are peacefully guiding them to their destination and just because you don’t get in the right hand lane when they would have they throw all their worry and fear at you and yell “you want to turn right here”. Just like God wants to guide me to my destination through the unique path he created for me, I often tell God you are going the wrong way. You were not suppose to turn there. Why does it feel like I am going backwards? My destination is over there! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Sometimes when we are in the backseat we can’t see the full picture like the person in the driver seat. The driver knows the destination, he knows which path is the right path for you. He designed it for you.
Time to let go because we are not in the driver seat and trust that God knows what he is doing. 🤫

Spiritual Dehydration

Whitney Capps
Today's Reading: Psalm 63
Psalm 63:1 (ESV) "O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water." Medical science categorizes physical dehydration into three degrees of severity. Increased thirst is actually a symptom of the second degree. Shockingly, when we discover we are thirsty, we are already moderately dehydrated; we missed the earlier, more subtle symptoms indicating our need for rehydration.
Our bodies need water, and our spiritual bodies need spiritual water. In Scripture, our relationship with the Lord is likened to water for our souls. Jesus promises to give us Living Water — the Holy Spirit — in John 7, and again in John 4. David says in today's passage that his soul is parched and desperate for the Lord — the water for his soul.
Having lived his early years as a shepherd, David knows the weariness of working too long without water. He has searched in earnest for his body's most urgent and desperate need. David likely knew the anguish of that physical need because he had been refreshed by water.
Clearly from Psalm 63, David also knows the need and joy of being refreshed by the presence of the Lord. In his current season of loneliness and misery, David knows what will refresh his soul. Notice that this is the opening of David's lament and hope. This psalm makes it clear that David has many dreadful needs that weary him.
But David knows the sweetness and peace that being with God will bring. The soul care David prays for is the presence and comfort of the Lord, not the easing of his troubling circumstances. Worship has become his water.
David also addresses the cares of his life. He closes the psalm, not with fear or worry, but the confident declaration that God will deal with his enemies...(Remaining devotional in comments below) 👇🏽

I often get asked about what I do. While it’s true that I spend my time using the Enneagram to coach individuals and to coach coaches, there’s an even deeper WHY behind my coaching.⠀
.⠀
My purpose at Your Enneagram Coach is:⠀
.⠀
“For people to see themselves with astonishing clarity so they can break free from self-condemnation, fear, and shame by knowing and experiencing the unconditional love, forgiveness, and freedom in Christ.”⠀
.⠀
Everything I do and am about is filtered through this vision for people who feel stuck in their personal growth and relationships to explore who they are in Christ, experience lasting transformation, and to become their best selves. That, to me, is worth getting out of bed every morning!⠀
.⠀
What is your passion, purpose, and life mission?⠀

Good morning! From today’s #first5: Psalm 63:1 (ESV) "O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water." Clearly from Psalm 63, David also knows the need and joy of being refreshed by the presence of the Lord. In his current season of loneliness and misery, David knows what will refresh his soul. David also addresses the cares of his life. He closes the psalm, not with fear or worry, but the confident declaration that God will deal with his enemies.
I wonder if we might use this psalm as water for our souls the next time we find ourselves spiritually dehydrated? How might the heaviness of our souls change if we begged God to be near and refresh us? Further, what if we learned from David's prolific example and made praise a regular part of spiritual health?
Are you and I walking around spiritually dehydrated because we're missing the symptoms? Do our worries hijack our prayer life? Has our Bible reading become stale? Are our souls parched? Perhaps we need to drink of His Living Water.
Prayer: Father, what a precious example we have in David. His soul knew the sweetness of intimacy with You. Help me consistently drink from Your Living Water. Make me aggressively aware of even the smallest symptom of my own thirst. In Jesus' name, amen. “

“Thus says the LORD,
who makes a way in the sea,
a path in the mighty waters,
who brings forth chariot and horse,
army and warrior;
they lie down, they cannot rise,
they are extinguished, quenched like a wick:
‘Remember not the former things,
nor consider the things of old.
Behold, I am doing a new thing;
now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
and rivers in the desert.’”
- Isaiah 43:16-19
///
I don’t know what it is about fall, or this fall in particular, but I’ve been feeling like it’s the a new season and I don’t just mean the weather. Ch-ch-ch-changes.
//
I love how these verses sandwich transition between a reminder of God’s faithfulness in the past and a promise that He will make a way in the future. It’s not always easy to see the new things that God is doing. It can be even harder to embrace them, especially when the old things aren’t all that bad and are actually pretty comfortable. But we can move forward confidently and expectantly, knowing that the One who walks with us through every season will meet us yet again with his goodness and faithfulness.

“If I don’t pray for my son, what do I actually believe about prayer? Like, what is my heart’s thoughts about prayer and do I understand that it is such a privilege to be able to talk to the God and Creator of this universe? Do I believe that He is ready and wants to hear everything that I have to say to Him and wants to hear my heart’s desires?” __________________________________

He’s not an “I told you so” kind of God.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
He’s a “Come here. Welcome home. I’ll fix it. I love you. My grace never runs out. Just believe that’s enough” kind of God.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1 Corinthians 13:7 says, “Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”

I debated posting this picture for the longest time. I played with it in editing for even longer!! I’ll be real with you, I love this picture! The door is beautiful and I wanted so badly to show it off on this feed, but I couldn’t decide if I should because my legs are in it! I was trying to figure out how I could edit myself out and still keep the door! Now, I have never been afraid of posting selfies, always been confident in that area, but you zoom out and get my legs in a shot, and girl, I’m heading to the cropping station on my phone!!! This time tho, as I sat there spending way to much time trying to figure out this “huge” problem that “I” thought I had!!! It hit me!! “What am I doing?” This is me! Those are my legs, they may not be thin and elegant, but they are strong and have carried me! They are the reason I’m able to do things, go places, run races, ride horses, and sooo much more!! Wow, I should be proud of my legs, not ashamed!!! To often I get so caught up on how I think I should look instead of appreciating the things I can do because of how I actually look! I am on a fitness journey. I am working towards being a healthier version of myself, but as I write this and have thought about it, one thing that I hope stays the same is the function and use of the legs God gave to me!

*cue ”We’re All in this Together” from the Highschool musical soundtrack.* Also, disclaimer: I just want to make it veryyyy clear that this picture makes me look a lot cooler than I actually am... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

My parents ( @bkitchen72 / @deliberately_joy ‘s) phrase is “better together.” This weekend was such a beautiful reminder of that reality. It’s not about us. We can accomplish so much more UNITED for the kingdom than divided & competing for the advancement of our own agendas & opinions. What is true about each one of us is that we are broken people that God loves despite our brokenness - let’s stand together, let’s love one another, let’s lift Him higher. THAT IS a force to be reckoned with.

It's my circus and they're my monkeys! Being a mom is SUCH A GIFT. (Doing it with @natescott1309 is the best! #dreamteam)
.
.
Yes, I can get bogged down by the endless to do list, the mommy comparison game, the whining and arguing, the constant training and discipleship, and just the energy needed to keep up with these crazies! But I'm SO thankful to be a mom. I try to start everyday with gratitude. Not just saying it, but writing. it. down. .
.
Writing for me is the secret of remembering and accomplishing. I write down what I'm grateful for and I write down what I want to accomplish. 📝No moment is too small for the gratitude list... a super-fun all the fall things weekend 🍁 or an extra long baby snuggle or a meme that makes me literally laugh out loud.
📝 No task is too small for the to-do list...drink coffee ✅, make bed ✅, find library books ✅, spend 1 hour working my all natural hair business ✅, make dinner ✅. .
.
I've always been a "to-do list girl" but my gratitude list is changing my heart from frustration to joy! 😤➡️😊 It helps me see all the joy and blessings when my best laid plans are foiled in the most wonderful way by sticky fingers and storybooks.

#PODCAST::: Ok guys!!!!! I have some VERY exciting news that you will not want to miss out on 🙌🏼🙌🏼🎉🎉🎉🎉 I basically decided on a whim of 2 minutes that I was going to record - what I’m going to call - an “off-brand podcast” 🤣🤣🤣 which looks like an app I have no idea how to use or spread to an audience (we’ll hopefully figure that out later), sitting on my kitchen floor in the dark, and hitting the big scary red button at the top with NO idea what the heck I’m going to talk about 🤣🤣 just think about being rushed up on a stage to give a speech and given your “topic” right then and there with a countdown from 3-2-1... basically me 😂😂 soooo.... with all of that to say... this is just a quick less than 15 minute introduction to who I am and what this ministry is all about (including some random fun facts and all my awkwardness🤣). Anyways, it would mean THE WORLD if you would give it a listen, share it on your story/social media, and let me know your thoughts! The link will be in my bio and also on a slide up on my story 😘 Not quite sure where all this will go just yet, but hoping for some “episodes” to come where we talk about allllll the things. With saying that, I would love to hear your feedback on what to discuss and what you want to hear from me 😘 ok ok that’s all. Just go listen, share, and let me know your thoughts please please!!! Thank you ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I always sort of raise an eyebrow when I hear people say that reading the Bible is something you should do to feel better if you’re having a hard time. Mainly because that isn’t always my experience. Sure, that’s happened to me at times. But plenty of other times it hasn’t. Plenty of times I’ve walked away from reading my Bible still confused, still hurting, still with questions left unanswered. Plenty of times I’ve walked away feeling nothing at all.
—
But I think that’s okay - because I don’t think reading our Bibles is primarily about FEELINGS at all. I think it’s about knowing God. It’s about building our relationship with Him brick-by-brick. It’s about showing up to His Word day-by-day, and submitting ourselves to its ultimate authority - submitting ourselves to its TRUTH when our flesh wants to demand answers and declare some circumstance unfair.
—
Ultimately God’s Word is our compass when our fickle feelings can’t be trusted and we aren’t sure which way is up. YES, it certainly offers comfort, encouragement, truth, and a peace that passes understanding, but that’s just it - in order to have a peace that passes understanding, you have to forfeit your need to understand.
—
I’m learning that at the end of the day, I have to surrender my need to make sense of things and lay all the pieces that don’t seem to add up at His feet. I have to humble myself in recognizing I don’t have the all the information, I don’t see the whole picture, yet choose to follow in blind faith the One who does. His thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways, but they are GOOD.

I had an extremely BUSY crazy weekend!😩 The exhausting type where you don’t rest. I was so tired on Sunday afternoon BUT I had a deadline & I needed to record our very first audio chapter book. It took 4 hours to record 😱😱Reading & rereading till it was great! But the exhaustion went & excitement took over. We are super thrilled with this project coming soon. Swipe to guess what story I’ve been recording.
It’s a great bible story 😆👌🏼

Sad to say today I was back at work. I can’t wait to share with you all I’ve learned from my trip in Uganda. 2 weeks flew by. I wish I could go back.

There is a difference between being satisfied in Christ and being lazy. When we find Jesus to be our everything, it shouldn’t make us stop seeking Him. Instead, it makes us want to know Him even more! There should never be a time in our lives that we feel we’ve had enough of Christ.⠀
•⠀
We will always need to cling, search out, meditate on, and obey. When we stop seeking and obeying, we get complacent. Then, we stop growing in our Christian walk! But, there is always more in Jesus.⠀
•⠀
We have to get up and start seeking again. We need to ask God to help us resist the temptation to sit longer than resting. Complacency is the enemy of those who want to grow! Get up sis!⠀

I recorded a cry for help video at 15 years old. I held up different pieces of paper with words written on them. They described my depression, anxiety, and deep longing for love and acceptance.
I pulled out that video the other day and I watched the whole thing. I cried with my old self. I wanted to jump through the screen and hold her so tightly. My heart broke when I read one of the papers that said this...
“I just want to feel seen. I want everybody to stop leaving me. I want something to be constant.”
Such deep wounds. Such real hurt. And I’m humbled to say...7 years later, every single desire that I had back then has been met over and over again by the King of Kings. And I still stand in awe of His grace.
Sometimes, looking back isn’t a bad thing. It encourages you to be thankful for the present.
Remember where God saved you from. Remember how hopeless you were. Remember every negative feeling. Go back there in your mind. Then remind yourself of all that He’s done for you since.
Guarantee you’ll wake up feeling renewed, refreshed, and most of all, grateful.

I knew a pastor & his wife who would always ask God where He wanted them to eat, when they would go out. Because they knew that depending on where they went there would be an opportunity to meet a certain person and minister to them. 😍🙌🏻⠀
⠀
I love the intentionality of God. I love that while He gives us the Holy Spirit to guide us, He also cares about each decision I make. Because each one can lead me closer to Him and allow me to be part of what He’s doing OUTSIDE of me. ⠀
⠀
God is up to SO much more than we can see. And I want to be a part of that. Don’t you, friends? 🙋🏻‍♀️⠀
⠀
So let’s invite Him into the “small decisions & mundane tasks” like: 👉🏻 whether we need to buy that expensive new skincare product, praying for Him to use us in the grocery store, asking Him to be with you as you search for that thing from store to store, helping you give your all in a workout...⠀
⠀
When we do we shift our perspective to kingdom focus. We allow ourselves to see & experience God more frequently. And we remember that God really IS for us and each day has purpose. 💗

"I'm sick and tired of walking around with a sign trying to change people's hearts." - Anissa Pierce, 'Black Lightning'.
-
I get it. I often feel that way about blogging and making videos.
But there's something that really works out those kinks in my perspective: it's not on me to change hearts. I can't. I can present to you the One who changed my heart, but I can't make you accept Him. So, when the time is ripe and you're ready, I pray He'll come to you in ways you never imagined. Until then:
And the Lord said to Paul one night in a vision, "Do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do not be silent, for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many in this city who are my people." Acts 18:9‭-‬10
-
Is this good enough for #MelaninMonday or nah?
I've been reflecting on my city's history, where we can go and what I can do. What I've come to see is that it's HIStory and I can rest in that.
-
How has your day been so far? I'm pushing myself to be productive. 😂
Have you watched 'Black Lightning'? I love it. My mom not so much. ⚡

God is real.
-
He knows you. He loves you. He hears your prayers and He answers them.
-
There have been several times in my life when God felt so far away, but in reality, it was me who was far away from Him.
-
Coming back to Him hasn’t always been the easiest but it is always the best option. Life is SO GOOD when God is in it. Even though there are still so many hard days, I have found so much peace in knowing that I have a Savior who knows what I’m feeling and a God who loves me always 💕

Good morning! 💕☕️💕 It’s a brand new day, and a brand new week! Are you ready? .

Let’s chat quick today about your passion, purpose, and calling. .

Do you mind if I share a story with you? Years and years ago I read a book by the fabulous Lori Wick called Pretense. In the book, one of the characters is a writer. Complete with the thrill of inspiration, the agony of choosing the right words, paralyzing writers block, the relieved sigh of deadlines met, and the overwhelming satisfaction of holding her strung together words bound in hardcover, Lori led me as the reader through the entire writing process. And I was hooked. .

About the same time, I was a brand new believer digging deep into a bible study by Henry Blackaby called “Experiencing God” with new friends. One point Henry makes over and over in the book is to see where God is working and join him. As a baby Christian with an infant and two toddlers, my work was to join God in the healing and renovation he was doing on my own heart and the foundation he was building with my family. There simply was no time to write. Fast forward through a couple of moves including uprooting our family from the small Oregon logging town my husband and I grew up in and planting ourselves in Alaska, building a home and farm, raising kids, althewhile, God was working. I joined Him in the work at hand knowing this passion to encourage through properly placed letters was going to be used in His time. .

After more than twenty years of watering and feeding my soul, It is time to bloom. .

God gave me a passion to raise my kids to know and love him and to love and help my husband as much as possible while he built his career. But I was aware there was more to come. .

Don’t get restless or fearful if you feel God isn’t giving you the opportunity to pursue your passion right in the now. He IS working. Take the focus off of yourself and join Him. Trust that you are right where you need to be and that He has a plan for your future. And since He gave you the passion, He will use it — in His time — for His purpose and glory.

“You don’t burn out doing the right things. You burn out because of what you don’t do.”
.
After a week off, I’m feeling incredibly refreshed. Life with 3 jobs & an internship can be overwhelming. The beauty of 1 of my jobs being online is that I can choose my own hours. The downfall is I’ve chosen to burn the midnight oil for the sake of getting more done.
.
We need rest. I’ve heard it. You have. We know it to be true. Do we listen, tho? I sure didn’t. But this past week was different. It wasn’t refreshing because I chose to sleep a lot; I didn’t sleep much more than usual. What made it restoring to my soul was Jesus.
.
In Matthew 14, after John the Baptist dies, Jesus retreats for some time alone to grieve. The crowds follow Him & because He is SO compassionate, He chooses to heal them. When His disciples tell Him to dismiss the crowd, out of even MORE compassion, He chooses to feed them instead. Miraculously, at that. He could have kept going. Kept healing. Kept being with others - the crowds & His disciples. He’s God, after all. But He’s also human. He understood the need for rest & renewal in His Father. He sends His disciples out on a boat & goes up the mountain alone to pray.
.
He knew He needed to rest in the presence of His Heavenly Father. Oh my soul, how it needs rest in the presence of my Heavenly Father. It’s easy to slip into the busy-ness of life & forget that our souls need more. We will burn out if we think we can keep going without spending unhurried time with the Lord.
.
Jobs & internships aren’t bad things. But they can become idols & destroy my soul if I don’t find everything I need in Him. Including restoration. That’s what this week off has been. Rest in His presence, connecting with other believers, encouragement & edification. Falling more in love with Jesus.
.
I’m ready to serve God in whatever way He wills through coaching & its a blessing. I needed to re-prioritize & God has been so kind to exceed what I expected this week off to be.
.
Friends, rest. Spend time in His presence. Be still. Listen. Pray to know Him like a friend. Your soul needs it. & it will set you up to better to magnify the Lord through all you say & do!!!❤️

With so many people joining our community daily, I thought I’d introduce myself!
.
I’m Beth McCord, aka “Your Enneagram Coach.” I’m a mom to Nate (6w7) and Libby (2w3) and a wife to Jeff (6w5) who is my best friend for the last 23 years. I love Jesus. I love sports movies like The Natural, The Legend of Bagger Vance, Invincible, Rudy, Hoosiers, and the like. For the last 33 years I’ve gone fly fishing twice a year in the Ozarks with my family. I had a severe reading disability growing up (which is ironic since I’m now in the process of writing a book!). My college degree was in Sign Language interpreting which I used for for a short period of time before going into ministry with the Navigators. I love looking at elephant IG accounts! I dislike being too hot or late to things. I eat Keto so bring on some steaks and veggies! One day I plan to own a boat and live on a lake with Jeff. I’m a Type 9w8 that has spent most of my life happy to exist in the background, until God helped me to become more awake to myself with the help of the Enneagram.
.
Nearly 20 years ago I was introduced to the Enneagram, not as a teacher or coach, but as a wife and mom who desperately needed it. I knew the Gospel but kept falling into the same ruts. I felt stuck and discouraged. That’s when the Enneagram found me and radically began to change my life.
.
God brought incredible awareness and transformation to me and my family. I was HOOKED and dove into all things Enneagram and would have never believed that journey would have grown into what it is today. And honestly, as a Type 9, it might have freaked me out!
.
I’m thankful to have spent the last few decades coaching others. I love coaching individuals, couples, and other coaches. I’m also thankful to walk alongside YOU with this IG account! I can’t wait to see all that God has in store for you on your journey! Thank you for following me. Tag your friends to join us here!
.
Please introduce yourself so that I can know you better…

Tag your friends to join us here! . Please introduce yourself so that I can know you better… .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ #enneagram #yourenneagramcoach #Christianenneagram #enneagramcoaching #Enneagramcoach #shereadstruth #hereadstruth #proverbs31ministries #nashville #franklintn #bibleverse - 1 day ago

Waiting … in Silence

Kellye Schiffner Carver
Today's Reading: Psalms 61-62
Psalm 62:1 (ESV) "For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation." When it feels like the world is against you, what do you do?
Many find comfort in the arms of a spouse, friend or family member. Others retreat into themselves or look to things, activities or roles to feel strong and safe again.
Psalms 61 and 62 capture David's thoughts in the midst of sorrow and difficulty, but Psalm 62 also paints a picture of peace and deliverance. David's method for finding peace may seem atypical, unnatural or isolated in our world today. Instead of looking inward to ourselves or outward toward other people, David tells us to look up, to God.
David likely penned Psalm 62 as conspirators tried to usurp his throne. Amid attacks and slander, he described himself as a "leaning wall," a "tottering fence" (Psalm 62:3-4). In this fragile, inadequate human condition, David prays for deliverance, and he finds it by waiting "for God alone" (Psalm 62:1). The Hebrew word for alone, ak, means "only," "truly" or "surely." It occurs six times in the 12 verses of this psalm. (Psalm 62:1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 9) Simply put, there are no substitutes or alternatives for God.
This is the first of two critical points tucked into our key verse — that only God can provide true refuge from our tribulations. This truth tells us where to look for help. We can't trust other people or things the way we can trust God. (Psalm 62:9-10) We will ultimately be disappointed if we look to other "rescuers," but when we take refuge in the Almighty, we cannot be shaken. (Psalm 62:2, 6-8) ...Remaining devotional in comments below 👇🏽

It was a weekend for a Nerf War Fortnite Birthday Party.
.
And my girl said she wanted in on the war.
.
I worried she’d freak out when the other team came after her.
.
I prepared her with allllllll the words and made myself her own personal hype man...
.
And these words held her ok, but then her daddy stepped in the ring.
.
Armed with his Nerf pistol and pockets full of bullets and it turned “just ok” to pure JOY and FUN and a party to remember.
.
Because once we know our Daddy is in the ring, all bets are off.
.
She can run hard and have fun, because there’s protection right behind her.
.
She can breathe a sigh of relief because without looking she knows He’s always there.
.
And she knows she can give it all she’s got because her daddy is standing strong behind her, and ready to back her up should she fall, run out of bullets, get lost, or get hit by the opposing team.
.
And it’s the posture I want to take in my own heart too.
.
That I can run hard on mission because there’s protection right behind me.
.
I can breathe relief if I mess up, or make mistakes... because His grace and love is always there.
.
And I can give it all I’ve got and do all He’s asking of me... because the bullets of rejection, pain, or opposition don’t stand a chance against the one who’s stands tall and strong beside beside me...
.
and because my heavenly Father never leaves, backs down or is taken off guard.
.
And He is always always there❤️👊🏻

Lately, I've been challenging myself to find the beauty in everything.
Honestly - it's not always easy.
Because our brains are wired to see the negative in everything, it makes it hard to stop, rearrange our thoughts, & realize that nothing is really THAT bad.
There's usually a silver lining that we tend to overlook. (Preaching to myself here)
It's even biblical to do this! God wants our minds to be full of what is good + lovely.
"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things." - Philippinans 4:8.

It's the start of a brand new week! Focus on the good today. And everyday that comes after.

I just can’t say enough good things about taking Sundays off. About staying in your pajamas all day, throwing the frisbee in Louisiana’s first cool snap. About turning off all notifications, not doing any work & taking lots of those good, fill-your-soul deep breaths. Being present with my people fills me up & sends me out. #growingupguichet

Soooo the lighting gets weird in the video but I had to get the lighting really low to be able to see through the canvas. .
This is my trick to handlettering. I get the design exactly how I/client likes it on my iPad and then use the iPad as a light box to transfer it to whatever I’m lettering on. So it looks like I’m “copying”...but I’m copying my own design and lettering. .
.
I’m just not one of those people who is comfortable free-handing things and making it come out perfect. Nope. Not me! .

It’s Monday. We’re back at it…fully engaged in life.

It’s crowded in here. It’s loud in here. It’s easy to get caught up in this way or that thought. It’s easy to follow the routine and forget to think. Forget to listen. Fail to hear.

I’m going to fight this week to hear the still, small voice. The one that God uses to speak to me, to open my eyes to see what is right there before me. The one that He uses to urge me to be strong and courageous which might mean being different than the crowd.

I’m always wanting the big sign – the burning bush – the donkey talking. It’s easy to see that’s God at work, right? But Jesus. Jesus appeared and quietly went about His father’s business. Hearing. Helping. Healing. Finding. Feeding. Forgiving. Seeing. Saving. Sacrificing. Above all, loving.

Jesus - the visible still, small voice.

I’m listening today – no matter the crowd. No matter the noise. “…the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.” 1 Kings 19:11-12

When the devil tries to convince us that we pray “too much” or that our prayers are a bother to God I say we whip out the thesaurus and remind him that continually means…
.

Constantly
Endlessly
Perpetually
Always
Steadily

Friends, you and I are not only given permission to pray, we are encouraged to pray without ceasing. Amen, amen, amen! 🙏

Got home today and found myself in that blur of a moment when you reflect, ponder, and get still, and you wonder, “Did that just happen?” I can’t even fully articulate how meaningful these last few days have been (although I’m sure you can imagine!). It was incredible, on many levels.

I had some dear people come alongside to help in this #Silobration adventure... my beautiful, dream-defender, prayer warrior mom @katharinehowey... my patient, loyal, servant-hearted, rock of a brother @jeremyhowey... plus two dear friends @amyacarr19 and @rebekahjgriffiths who came, helped, served, and ministered to me as much as they did to everyone who stopped by my booth. So thankful for all of them. And deeply thankful to @magnolia for believing in small businesses like mine.

I’ve thought about my sweet friends who came all that way just to visit... and many new friends I got to meet. Heard some beautiful stories, saw tears shed as God watered some deep places in the hearts of those who took in the words of hope, courage, and faith found in His promises. It impacted me deeply. I’m so convinced I’m doing what God created and purposed me to do in this season of my life.

All of that to say, I sometimes feel as unlikely as they come, but that’s what ought to give YOU hope for your life. If God can use someone like me, if He can do something like this in and through me, then I can ONLY IMAGINE what He wants to do through YOU.

Your story may not include a Silobration experience, but I can tell you whatever it is, it’ll be Eph 3:20 all the way, beyond what you could ask, think, or imagine.

So dream big, friends. We only get this one life to rise up in our God-given strength, courage, hope, and faith. There are people who need you to take those obedient, courageous steps of faith forward into the things God has put in your hands + hearts to do right now. It’s more than just a business, more than an event, more than a skill... He wants to use you to touch lives, to encourage hearts, strengthen faith, and point people to Jesus.

Go for it, friend. It’s worth it to dream big with God. He is for you, and your best is yet to come. Cheering for you! XO, Andrea

(sound on)🔊Being in relationship with God is free for us by faith but giving the gift of salvation wasn’t free to God. He sent His only Son who knew no sin to be sin for us so that through Him we might become the righteousness of God in Him (2Corinthians 5:21). God paid a heavy price to bring humanity back to Himself as He watched His only begotten Son hang on a cross after being brutally beat for the sake of us all. He did it out of love. God wants a relationship with us but will not force it; we must come willingly. The choice is ours, believing in the One He sent is the prerequisite for relationship with the Living God. Jesus said in John 11:25 that those who believe in Him will live even when they die! That’s a promise friends. Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life.

“The Two Pink Lines” was the title of my devotional I wrote and shared at @nattylou86 baby shower
💓
💓
💓
I shared the story of Hannah and her cry for a child as she watched Elkanah’s other wife Peninnah have children effortlessly. I shared how I had the honor to watch Natalie listen to God through her fertility journey and take actions lead by Him and not the flesh...there were many other women around her getting pregnant and she remained steadfast with loving on those women while still grieving the one pink line she kept seeing every month
💗

This little angel girl I am holding is nothing short of a miracle and Gods divine timing. Baby Jordyn is part a huge testimony of faithfulness and I’m so excited to see how God will continue to shine through her life.

You may not be or may be waiting to conceive a baby but guaranteed you have desires in your heart you pray will conceive something in your life. You may be praying for your confirmation or “two Pink Lines” and possibly grieving every time you only see one pink line where your hopes are high only to find out now is not the time. Don’t lose heart my friends, we’re all waiting on our Two Pink Lines in some way in our life. Stay bathed in the Word, faithful in prayer, and still enough to hear the Holy Spirit lead you. Don’t compare your journey to others or your joy will literally be stolen from you. Your Pink Lines May come in a few months.. some a few years... and others, decades. Fight the good fight and stay faithful to His leadings. I’m one proud Aunty because of my sister’s relentless spirit of trusting in our amazing God. Thank you, Natalie, for going against the grain and being firm in your faith. Love and admire your heart so very much!

I shared how I had the honor to watch Natalie listen to God through her fertility journey and take actions lead by Him and not the flesh...there were many other women around her getting pregnant and she remained steadfast with loving on those women while still grieving the one pink line she kept seeing every month This little angel girl I am holding is nothing short of a miracle and Gods divine timing. - 2 days ago

What flows from our lips reflects what is in our hearts. Question I ask myself... does my talk reflect my walk?

It seems like a moment ago I was holding you, shaking body and all, more exhausted than I’ve ever been, overcome with emotion. Just over a month later, after some of the most challenging days I’ve faced, my joy in being your mother has grown and grown. Truthfully, I’ve never slept less or cried more in my life. The days aren’t easy, in fact a lot of them are really hard. I’ve felt alone & sometimes even ill-equipped: but when I look at you, my son, I see the clearest picture of the love the Lord has for us.

I’m ready for an amazing week! Come what may, God will be with me in it. That makes it seven opportunities to walk closely with Love Himself. Can’t ask for more than that!

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus! Romans 8:1⠀
•⠀
Looking behind us will bring guilt, shame, fear, and burdens that were nailed to the cross with the blood of Jesus. With Christ, we can look at our past safely.
•⠀
Without Him, the enemy will lie and our insecurities will yell at us. We see clearer through the eyes of redemption!⠀

I hate small talk.
Which is why I usually bail on events that are going to have a lot of it.
I probably shouldn’t advertise that, because community is super important and you should always seek some. But I’ve just found that quality is so much better than quantity.
You’ll never see me making my way through a crowd with a smile on my face, laughing loudly, or making conversation about mundane things.
That’s exhausting for me.
I thrive on sitting across from a person and unpacking life’s biggest messes or most beautiful moments.
I want to hear their fears, the reasons for their favorite song, and their questions about God.
I want to divulge every inch of my heart too.
And I know for some people I’m too heavy, too extra, and too emotional... But to be honest, I rather have too much depth than none at all. 🤷🏻‍♀️
But feeling so much can be pretty lonely so I’d love to hear what you think.
Anyone else like me out there?

I’m not gonna lie — my relationship with Chris is in its best state ever compared to all of the three years together combined 😍 And I’m also not gonna lie — that best state took three years to get there. We have so many ALMOST BREAKS UPS that I’ve lost count of it all 😅 But in so many of those times, it took us those moments to realise what we have, how good we got it going, how amazing the other person is, and the crazy amount of good times we have to leave it all behind. Sometimes, it’s takes those times to trigger wake up calls of thanksgiving and appreciation. But here’s what I really learned in this journey: whether it is in your relationship, work, career, friendships or family, always be thankful and appreciative of the things you have, the people you are with and the moments you are in WAAAY before things reach to the ALMOST THE ENDS and ALMOST BREAK UPS to realise how good you got things going 🙌🏻 #herprogressnz #fearlesslyher

Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed. Proverbs 16:3.
.
.
I remember having this verse on my laptop when I was working as an event planner for an upscale community. I enjoyed my job, but man was it hard to always please everyone with everything you did. I needed this as a reminder that putting God first and trusting His plan is the only way for us to succeed in whatever we do. This week, let’s remember to commit our plans to Him, because He wants us to succeed. 💕

I’m honestly still processing what happened this weekend @together.generation & I will share more soon. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What I can say is this... a year ago, a girl who loved Jesus, grew up a PK, & went though a whole lot of motions thought she had it all figured out... until she was brought to her breaking point. It felt like everything had been stripped away (a result of what happens when you place your value into temporary things), but little did she know it was only the beginning of what God has in store. That girl is me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here’s the good thing about having nothing left, about being empty handed - it creates the most beautiful opportunity for you to sit at the feet of Jesus, to invite Him to be your everything. Reality is, He really is everything or nothing at all... to choose Him means to release everything you’ve placed before Him. It’s a process. It hurts, and it’s not easy... I would be kidding you if I said it was, but what He will do with a heart that chooses surrender really is limitless & so worth anything else you let go of - I know because I’m living that reality, not because of anything I am but because I chose to say YES to all that He is. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Let’s not miss it. Let’s not miss all that He has in store because we put Him in a box & get stuck going through the motions. We were created for so much more.

I believe the best is always yet to come as we walk with God, that our future is bright in Him, and we have so much to look forward to. I believe God can do anything and that He can do it in a moment.

I believe this for our future, but I know He wants us to believe this for our NOW as well. I want that sense of expectation to hold fast in my heart and grow in greater measure.

I want to see God do exceedingly, abundantly, immeasurably more in our lives. Why not have bold and hope-filled expectation that God is about to do something great in and through us, even before this year runs out.

Whatever He’s been speaking to you to do, I say go for it. Let this be the year. You have what it takes, in Jesus, to do what He’s been stirring in your heart to do... that bold, audacious, never-woulda-thought, crazy-faith-required kind of thing.

Why not believe this is the year of miracles... of extravagant God-dreams of the heart coming to pass... of long-held hopes becoming real and tangible. There’s plenty of time for this to be your BEST YEAR YET.

May we look back and say this was a year we saw God's promise strong in our lives because we took Him at His Word and watched as He made a way where there was no way before. I’m believing it for myself and I believe it’s true for you, too.

Stay the course. Don’t shrink back... let the sails of your faith expand and enlarge, and let’s go after every God-sized dream, calling, and purpose He’s put in our hearts, for our good, for the benefit of others, and always for the glory of God. I’m cheering for you, my friend! XO, Andrea
