Look like I just had an ephiphany here 😮💡🤩 Truth is the quote behind me, however cheesy, says it all for this time of year.
We’re now almost 2 months into the year and those of you who maybe started this year with good intentions are starting to realise the grind ain’t as glamorous as the insta pictures make it look 😐 In reality, getting results in the gym includes A LOT of unseen effort.. I think the best thing to do is be around people who recognise this effort, the ones who don’t will only be there to like your pictures when it’s said and done, so disconnect from that circle a bit, less of that will lead to more control of your success and life. Work hard and listen to people who can relate 😊👌🏼

Puede ser que estés realizando sentadilla hace tiempo pero no sientas que la fuerza y tono de las piernas mejora.
.
¿Esta realizándose bien? La sentadilla es un ejercicio predominante de Rodilla y cadera, es decir la musculatura que trabaja es la de los cuádriceps y los glúteos en una proporción parecida.
.
Pero depende cómo la ejecutes está proporción se desvirtúa. Si llevas el tronco hacia delante, la rodilla viajará hacia atrás y estarás quitándole carga  toda la musculatura asociada a la flexión de rodilla (cuádriceps).
.
Por contra estarás llevando más carga a glúteos y columna lumbar. Pero esto en ocasiones, es debido a una limitación en la flexión dorsal del tobillo, es decir la capacidad de doblarse que tiene este, que evita que la rodilla pueda avanzar. .
Entonces será fundamental mejorar la flexión del tobillo para que la tibia pueda adelantarse y mantenerse más vertical. Recuerda que el tobillo y su flexión está asociado a la capacidad de flexión de la cadera. ⚠ Si tienes el tobillo bloqueado habrá que revisar qué tal está la cadera.

Una vez liberado el tobillo entonces deberás buscar una posición más vertical para que tu sentadilla vuelva a involucrar a la musculatura asociada a la rodilla 💪❗

I’ve been off training for 3 weeks due to lower body injuries. But I’ve started training again and I’m feeling so much better mentally 🤩
 Still injured and going through physio, so I won’t be training lower body like I usually do 😞
 Gym is like therapy for me more than anything, so it feels great to be back in gym mode ♥️

Woke up about 5kg lighter than I went to bed the other day so decided to take advantage and try the #schchallenge think I got 34 reps at body weight which I'm ok with since it's my worst exercise, finally being under 5'5 has an advantage 😂

Got up this morning and headed out for a short, hard run and then hit my 400 pound tire for six flips. 
My training goal right now is to keep mixing things up, challenging myself, but making sure I’m enjoying the process. I’m not forcing myself to grind out certain workouts to prepare for anything specific other than staying strong, and being ready to feel good in every day life.

Strength meets mobility!

I think being strong is important. I feel that being in good health is important in general. With that being said, I feel like moving well is last on the list for a lot of people.
🏋🏻‍♂️
All too often I see the sacrifice of joint health in the quest for strength, and good health. Don’t go through life in pain and just accepting the pain. Waking up and taking NSAIDS isn’t he answer.

Are you using willpower to lose weight?

Resisting that cupcake?

Cutting out all carbs?

That may work in the short term but let’s be honest you know that won’t last long term. You are only human.

The great thing is you don’t need restrictions to be successful. You can absolutely still enjoy all the food you love while still losing weight.

You don’t have to do hours of cardio if you hate it.

Instead you should focus on developing a sustainable plan using your likes and avoiding your dislikes.

Find away of eating that suits you that will enable you to stay in a caloric deficit. Develop good behaviors and habits that will help you stay consistent.

Always ask yourself whatever you are doing NOW, can you repeat tomorrow, next week, next month, in a year. If the answer is NO then you know you will not last.

Life’s too short to be miserable. Willpower is too weak to use for long term success.

Learn to work smarter not harder so you can still have fun while losing weight.

Vandaag....❤️ Is het exact twee jaar terug dat mijn vader is overleden. Mis my daddy❤️ Het is ook de dag dat keihard op de feiten werd gedrukt dat het leven echt ineens zomaar over kan zijn en morgen niet meer hetzelfde is.

Het besef dat nu alles mooi is zoals het is, het leven echt tekort is om te piekeren en je druk te maken om dingen waar je geen invloed op hebt.

Één heel mooi ding heb ik geleerd van daddy en dat is dat je moet genieten en echt leven. Jouw leven. Tot twee jaar geleden leefde ik wel....maar vooral in de verwachting van een ander. En nu weet ik dat dat niet echt leven is.

Vanaf dat moment heb ik mijn leven omgegooid en alleen maar gaan doen wat ik leuk vind, waar ik op langere termijn echt geluk en voldoening uithaal ongeacht wat mensen daarvan vinden.

Een half jaar later keek ik vol trots in de spiegel met de gedachte dat papa super trots op me zou zijn en dacht toen letterlijk...wow ik straal like a Sunshine.

Ik vind het zo mooi dan voor mijn gevoel mijn vader in elke Sunshine een stukje voortleeft...dan voel ik die warme zonnestralen, ontvang ik zulke mooie en warme berichten van mijn Sunshines en dan voel ik een beetje de warmte van papa weer terug. Because if there’s something in the programme that you currently hate (snatches hello to you) 👋🏻 then it only makes sense to add in a movement you love 🤷🏼‍♀️ I LOVE pistol squats, they’re feeling really smooth atm, I find them oddly satisfying & get weirdly excited when they come up in a WOD 👀😂 Can’t actually remember when I was first able to do these but I’m pretty sure I used to dread them 🙃 Same goes for rowing and several other moves; a lot of people seem to think I love rowing (despite my very vocal complaints) because I row so regularly. I don’t. I hate it. I do it because I want to get better at it & no one gets better at something by avoiding it. Plus, once you get better at something, you start to hate it less. Or so I’ve been told. 🙃😒

Zero competitive fitness background, gym classes at school was something she ‘feared’ and fitness just wasn’t her thing. 🐺🔥

Started #CrossFit in 09/2016 at my gym and started her personal ID+Coaching fitness journey 11/2017. Her goal than was getting stronger, build confidence and maybe someday be good enough to qualify for the finals of a National CrossFit / Functional Fitness Event.

She came from far in training age and experience. Very little functional fitness experience, cardiovascular and power development and strength.

We laid out a plan, started programming training and nutrition, assess movements and re-asses, tested work capacity and re-tested and fine tuned her personalized program along the way. Was this an easy fitness journey? No! Resilience was what kept her going...

This weekend she was in the finals of her first big National CrossFit competition at the @thedutchthrowdown.nl in the Advanced division (36-40). Workout 4 was 5RFT OF Toes 2 Bar, Thrusters and Burpees over the bar. She took the heat win and after four tough and challenging workouts, she placed 11th overall!

🔹Increasing lean muscle increases metabolism, meaning you burn more energy/ calories throughout the day..
🔹Adherence to exercise is through enjoyment. But don’t be fooled that an hour of cardio is the only way to lose weight. Try to include resistance training into your weekly routines.
