~ The Bicycle Rider ~
This place has taken up a special spot in my heart so much so that I couldn't resist myself from uploading a second picture.
Back when I first came here, very few people knew about this place, even fewer knew about me, and about my love, for photography. I didn't have a camera back then, and obviously Instagram was not such a big deal; afterall good internet connectivity was a rarity. In fact it was by accident that I reached here the first time! I had recently got my driving licence and was roaming on my father's scooter the entire afternoon (of course without his knowledge). The tank was full and all the roads were same for me. I just kept taking the turns at my whim, when I unintendedly ended up here and didn't even know exactly where I was. The beautiful aura created by the rows of coconut trees running in parallel and the narrow road traversing through the gap left me awestruck. It was when I asked a local passing by on his bicycle, I realised that I was in Curtorim.
A lot has changed since than. The internet revolution happened. Everyone got smartphones. Lucky one's got cameras. I got my own bike. Social media became the new sensation. Facebook. Instagram. Snapchat. WhatsApp. Status. Story. Hashtag. Trending. Travel. Offbeat. Weekend. Bikeride... Untill one day someone called it "The Parra of South Goa". The people who came here changed, and the people they came alongwith changed, and the reason and purpose of their visit also changed.
But one thing remained the same. The bicycle rider who formally introduced me to this place the first time I came here, can still be spotted around, riding on his same old bicycle. #goa #goabeyondbeaches #exploringgoa #goldengoa #pickmygoapic #_mog #aami_sushegad_goenkar #shortstory
