I decided to repost one of my poems, “don’t come here,” which I wrote one year ago today. I wrote this about the idea of embracing change and building a new heart in order to move forward. Everything in life that’s hard that we face is never something negative, but always something that we should look at as a challenge and eventually learn from it as a lesson. I encourage whoever is reading this to get rid of any toxic people in your life and build a new home, build a new heart. Don’t ever lower your standards for people’s satisfaction or feel any ounce of guilt when you cut somebody out of your life if they are not good for your mental or physical being. You are still important regardless of the inability of someone who can’t see your worth. Find and appreciate those who will actually stick with you through good and bad, failure or success, storm or sun.
You’re allowed to lock your door.
You’re allowed to ignore a knock from someone who never understood your home.
So don’t open the door,
and don’t let them come there anymore. - 9 hours ago
