Color studies and value studies. I wanted to do a painting of fan art of Jasmine and Raja from Aladdin. doing a value study as incredibly important because it allows you to figure out where your dark medium and light values are going to be best put. Doing this can help you figure out mood creation and scenery.
Afterwards I'll do a color study, this saves an enormous amount of time because you get to experiment before you spend a lot of time painting. This is much easier to troubleshoot before you put paint on the canvas, as paint is much harder to correct.
The most beautiful part about doing artist the experimentation process, the ability to explore. These color and value studies allow me to explore to no end; searching for exactly what I want to convey.
What process do you use in concepting if any at all? - 7 minutes ago
