I lived on #Oahu for three years and one thing I wished more than any was for #Hawaii to have an off-season. No matter the weather, nor the month of year, millions of tourists would be on Oahu, waiting in line at your favorite place and spending the first 15 minutes of a meal trying to photograph it, while you're just waiting on a table. As a resident, it was annoying to not have any periods where tourists were away. I can't imagine how lifelong island residents felt. I respect a popular destination having an off-season.

If you like going to destinations solely for the Gram, go to #Santorini in the off-season.
The island is recharging after months of 🥜-to- pedestrian traffic. Workers are repainting the salmon, white, and blue rooftops which were left dirty from the heels of doyoutravel and gypsea_lust copycats; only a handful of restaurants and cafes are open; none of the boats are operating tours; the bars are closed. Nothing is happening on a place where you want to be part of the happening.
What you can do though is be as #basicbitch as you want to be Got that dream of yourself sauntering up the steps with the blue cupolas behind you, but you're worried you only have five minutes to shoot it because there is a line of people waiting to do the same? You won't have that issue in off-season. Take one hour to perfect your content. The only asses looking at you to get out of the way are the actual asses
I'm a person who enjoys quiet solitude, so Santorini in off-season was alright. I got tons of content without anyone in a Lulu impatiently waiting for me to finish. I respected the rules despite not many residents being there to police them. Go to Santorini towards the end of off-season (February-March) rather than the beginning if you're going that route. - 57 minutes ago
