Whether it’s just to tone, feel healthy, shed some pounds, or see a 6-pack! Goals are okay! I’m starting an 8 Week Bootcamp I’m going all in for starting next week! Nervous! 💥7 Glute Building Exercises You Can Do At Home💥

Glute Training has been really popular in recent years and continues to rise - even amongst men. -
All though many have turned their focus to building their Glutes for aesthetic reasons (not a bad thing) there is also some prehab/rehab properties to be recognized as well that can lead to pain free training. -
Most of us walk around in an extended posture, ribcage flared out and caved in low back, which results in our hips tilting forward. This is just part of being human and walking upright. -
I won’t go so far as saying these exercises will “fix” your posture but I will say that they will help to develop the biggest muscle on your body (Glutes) and give you more control of the engine (Hips) to help prevent excess extension that you can’t control which is for sure can be a culprit for chronic low back pain as well as hip instability. -
There are so many ways to strengthen and develop your Glutes, which I’ll tap into another day, but for now I wanted to provide you with some exercises you can do AT HOME with just a resistance band as well as your own Bodyweight that can help add to your physique and train pain free. -
For activation/prehab do 2 sets of 8-10 reps. Think activation, not annihilation.

For metabolic stress, or hypertrophy, you be in a higher rep range. Anywhere from 15-25 or even 50 reps. I know, that’s a big range. Here’s a couple examples you can apply right away... 1.) Seated Triple Threat Band Hip Abduction (2 Sets)
- Slight lean forward x15-20 reps
- Erect x15-20 Reps
- Slight lean back x15-20 reps

2.) 1 Leg Hip Thrust (2-3 Sets) x15-25 Reps each side

3 exercises for straight arm strength. 
APPLICATION
➡️ Necessary for advanced calisthenics movements such as handstands, planche, etc.

EXERCISES
1️⃣ Straight arm dumbbell riases
- Got this one from my friends @thenx , this is an excellent addition to add tension and load to your biceps in supinated grip

2️⃣ Straight arm pike hold
- Found this one by accident in my own training but it seems to be helping my core game and pronated scapula alooooot. If you look close notice my legs are off the bar

3️⃣ Straight arm reverse press
- This one again works best when pronated. Play with how far you can push the bar away from your body - further away the harder

Tag someone working their straight arm press game. Who knows, one of these exercises might be the missing piece to a beastmode puzzle they are building.

Who’s a fan of evening workouts?! 💪🏽
I’m rediscovering my love for sweating it out in the evening and I think it’s definitely going to be a permanent change for my schedule. Of course I’ll try it out for two weeks though and see how I feel before fully committing. That’s how long it takes to build a habit right?! ...WRONG 🙅🏽‍♀️ it actually takes about 66 days before a new behavior you implement becomes an automatic behavior in your life. So the next time you switch things up, create a new routine, or bring make a lifestyle change make sure to give yourself a good two months to adjust and get in the groove of things ✌🏽 If you’ve mastered the skill of discipline, you’ll probably be able to decide sooner than that whether something’s working for you or not (depending on what it is of course). Whatever you’re deciding to implement into your life, be sure that it provides you with value and positivity... you’ll thank yourself down the road🙏🏽

STOP 🛑 scrolling.. I got something say.
TBT to summer days where I was the smallest and leanest I have been. But it was also when I was hiding or at least not acknowledging how alone, sad and insecure I was. 👇🏼
Between May and July of 2018 I was hovering between 117-120lbs. I was the smallest I had been probably since highschool. I was tracking very diligently and was the most strict I have ever been with my diet. Did I feel confident in my skin from a physical stand point? Yeah, probably the most confident I have ever felt. Did I feel secure and confident mentally and as a person? Nope. But did I address that? Nope. Rather, I dumped everything into my physical appearance and fitness journey.
It wasn’t until some pivotal transitions in my life that I came to realize this and took time to step back and re-evaluate what I was doing and why:
🔹I was avoiding how I felt about other circumstances so I hyper focused else where
🔹I felt like I was losing control so hyper focused on something I knew I could control
🔹I felt having a more strong outward appearance would help give me more inner strength.. or at least come off that way
👉🏼Fast forward 7-8 months and I have gained 10-14lbs but have gained so much more mental strength. I am way more connected to God and have way more spiritual strength and mental clarity and awareness than I did 7-8 months ago. I feel more balanced. I feel joy that I have never felt and it doesn’t have to do with how I look.
Soooo.. my hope and prayer is that someone reads this and relates to this and can re-evaluate where they are at in their fitness journey and adjust accordingly if need be. Give me a 👋 if you can relate or have experienced something similar. .

Look forward. Focus on your goals and where you are headed. It will take time but as long as you continuously challenge yourself, you will get there. ❤️

Side planks are great for building obliques and balance/stability. 💪 They can also help tighten your waist-line. .

As you continue training, try to revisit the basics from time to time. Test your balance, agility, flexibility and coordination. These are especially important for functional fitness and your ability to perform activities of daily living. They can also make for wicked program adjustments! Instead of skipping the gym when your motivation wanes, try switching your training style. Trying something new may be all the excitement you need to get your motivation back. .

As for myself, I am training for strength 2 × wk and for cardiovascular health, balance and improved function 2 x wk. This is still my obstacle course inspired program, simply more refined. ☺️ DM for more details.

Everyone take notice of this post. It’s not “sexy” but it’s going to turn your life around. We need to focus more on our back side and less on the front side. 
2019... postures are getting worse and worse by the day. We are always on our phone, watching tv, sitting too much and on our computers. Start focusing on improving your back muscles to improve posture. It is so important for us to consistently work on these muscles. 2:1 pull to push ratio should be stuck in your mind moving forward. Here are my favourite Trx back exercises that should be programmed into all workouts moving forward. Try 3 sets of 10-15 per exercise. 
Do this 2-3 times a week and watch your posture, core and way of life improve! I didn’t mention that strengthening  the back will lead to stronger shoulders and healthier shoulders!! (for all the people with shoulder injuries out there!) Tag a friend who only works on the front side for better mirror selfies!! 🤪🤪
